I disagree - not silly at all, the owner has obviously got certain diff tastes - a good thing.... also the oversized painted shields I think look great in proportion to the rest of the car and so what if they were on historic cars - a degree of picking and choosing from the past to complement a modern car can (and, in this case ), does work. I am a little biased though ...
That's pretty funny. Off topic, but does anyone know what the cool old car is? It's two behind the red F40. Thanks. T
Collector David Lee took delivery of his TM Tdf https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e35/17883036_1581689961871994_6958414406174638080_n.jpg https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e35/17817827_1508028239230376_217704577904934912_n.jpg The blue alcantara could have worked for me, but not in a Yellow car
Amazing collection of cars, but I guess just an average day in Berkeley Square.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I front plate??? Must have been a weekend - no way you get away with that on a weekday - warden central!
Sorry, if this is a repost but i haven't seen it here! The great Shields on the side are no Stickers. They're completely handpainted at the factory!!!
Re the matt blue car and oversized shields: IMO the big shields work on this model-all specs. Problem IMO with matt blue car is only the colour and finish: it just doesn't look great as matt grey or matt white do.
Hand painted shields. Seems to be the new 'it' thing on this car as this is the 3rd or 4th car I've seen on the forum with it. However seems to work well with this color, as to my eye it doesn't seem to not be as obnoxious and blends better. And unlike the standard shield, the yellow is not a different color in comparison to the paintwork
David Lee just did the same on his. These haven't been posted yet... Thank you for posting! I like it, beautifully done and nice tribute. Though not sure if I could pull off yellow with blue, stunning nonetheless.
They have ! Anyway I prefer a cocaine clean tdf https://scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/14196008_908951965878058_392231402900603410_o.jpg?oh=a1f6cb83dfce22e5f28ee74603b1e0d8&oe=5995B930 Like said Camlet "Less is more"
Not a fan - don't like it at all. Having said that, it's his and he clearly has done exactly what he wants which, is the way it should be. Much better than the guys that alwYs want to know what's best for resale or what everyone else thinks!!!
That photo has been heavily photoshopped and the Swiss front license plate eliminated. #216032. Marcel Massini
You have to hand it to Mr Lee. His collection is remarkable by any measure. A few things I find interesting about his tribute. First, where he ends the stripe. On his glorious 250, the stripe carries to the bottom of the rear. DL stops it on the edge of the tailgate. Some, like Nicola Daniello's extremely impressive tribute to Ecurie Francorchamps carry the stripe down the back of the tdf. In my own lesser tribute to the beautiful 250 SWB GT #2689, I decided against running the stripe down the back of my tdf because the back of the tdf is busy enough. But my tdf is a soft tribute and I didn't require TM, Nicola went brilliantly all-in. I presume DL also felt the rear was busy enough but IMO as a tribute to his own 250 Comp, where his tdf stripe ends is neither fish nor fowl. Second, the wing mirrors. From the shots, why didn't he have them sprayed in a colour to closely match the chrome of the originals rather than leave them black? Per your point, the car is his wonderful celebration and well done Mr Lee for creating it.
I finally took delivery of my tdf and couldn't be more happy with the car in every possible way. The Rosso Maranello triple layer paint's beauty simply can't be captured in any pictures but when you it in sunlight the paint comes to life. The wheels have been corrected and are now painted in Grigio Silverstone which ties in to the livery strip and it pulls out the grey in the carbon fiber. The tdf looks great next to the LaFerrari as well! When I have more time I'll post more pics of the interior and other pictures. Thank you very much Ferrari of Washington! Congrats. Beautiful red. Some of these complex colours are very difficult to accurately represent in a two dimensional photograph as I have found for myself.
