My GTS may be for sale. A kid in a Subie just smoked me in 5k rpm roll on from about 80mph to 120. He absolutely destroyed me and my $90k ego. On way to see doc and lie on the sofa...

Who cares? He is still driving a Subaru and your driving a Ferrari. It's no big secret these cars aren't that fast by today's standards but that's not the point. It's the whole driving experience and history of the Ferrari mark.

I was once smoked in your current car by a 90s Honda Civic with a huge turbo or something. Literally just blew by me. Couldn't care less as the noises coming out of that 355 were giving me a huge smile and made the hair on the back of my neck stand up!

The sounds from this car are beyond explanation. Got to go through a decent tunnel today. So lovely. Thanks Eddie. It would be impossible to replace these sounds, so even as a lead sled, I am keeping [emoji482]

And the same thing could happen if you're driving a Veyron.

There's always something faster! Just drive what you like :)

So true. Funny. Grass is always greener.

I was just fluffing the market thread. Fun Thursday Ferrari driving day. If my commute was not 25mi one way, I would drive this car way more. Would rather drive on long trips, if I move the miles up the odo. Made to be driven, enjoyed and appreciated. All of us here at least have that in common. Cheers!

I'm on the fence. I'd be selling it to fund another 355 purchase...so trying to justify spending 50-60% more for the same exact same car in a different specification and lower miles is a little tough hahah. It's all dialed in right now too with a fresh major, test pipes, tubi, mini-cat o2 extenders going in, 360 f1 pump, etc.

I'd be keeping the Gruppe M intake and the Hamman PG3's though for the next car. :)

First Ferrari. It had to be red. :)

TdF on Cuoio would be ideal. Or a darker red like Rosso Barchetta on Cuoio.

I've found a really nice Blue Le Mans with Blu Scuro interior...but it'd be double the price of my 355 after importing, if I were to sell it mine. However, it has carbon seats which helps justify the extra.

    Alright guys.

As many of you know i used to own a 355 spider. Im considering picking up another 355 so want some good advice.

What should i be paying for a great sorted driver (not a show car) with a stick in either spider or GTS ?

As for color, no way off colors. Some shade of red, yellow or blue

As for miles, at least 10k as I want to make sure it was driven, but no more than 25k.

If you find something with over 20k miles, especially closer to 25k, I think it will be significantly cheaper. A nice spider should be anywhere from 60-75k with your requirements. GTS definitely 85-95k.

That looks like a nice car. Photos being a bit forgiving in detail....how did it look in person?

Spider's don't seem to be as desirable. In either regard, I hope the market tanks...I'd like to buy another. :)

there was a question on another thread, but no answer - do you know why they say "believed to be xx miles" vs "xx actual miles"?

for this F355 they say "believed miles" but for other cars they say "actual miles", not sure what the story is behind that

I saw the car in 2011 and with the exception of stick parts it was near perfect cosmetically. Really beautifully car. But in need of a major, valve guides and a couple of other issues that needed attention at the time. Nothing serious. 13k miles at the time. I actually regretted not buying it for a while.

It is possible that this is a different car buy there are so many similarities. Color combination, challenge grill, serviced by Ferrari New England in 08, old style power steering fluid reservoir, no shields, even the same Ferrari, but not F355 style, radio. Photo form 2011.

No idea. But the Testarossa that sold also says "Believed to be 1,512 miles" and the 360, "Believed to be 18,350 miles". Probably just not enough documentation to stick their neck out.

They say that because there not 100% sure about the mileage and this way they can't be held responsible if later it's found not to be true.

I guess my question is - how can they ever be sure about mileage on these analog cars?

Stories are known of owners (of other cars) who had their mileage pulled back a little each year...
especially with a car that is not used much normally, it does not look suspicious if one only drives 5k a year and still has it serviced annually...
So always be carefull, and also judge a car by its appearance...

You can't. But if you know the 355 very well, you can tell by the wear on certain parts of the car that tell you if the millage is real or not. It has always amazed me how so many 355s in the southern states come up for sale with very low milage while northern cars that are garaged for half the year have higher milage. I have seen many 355s that have been rolled back in in some cases it would be obvious even to a blind man.
