... of getting hooked on a 458 with an original, unflashed ECU!

Here's a little video I made in northern Portugal with a friend, aboard my 2011 Italia. Car is completely original, only non-factory thing fitted is a Forza controler. Dedicated to Carlo and Shiv.

Extreme backfire when properly warmed up, in Race mode, on a B road on a quiet and early morning. It transports you to a different reality, another world. I know 458 owners can relate to this. No video does the sound complete justice, but even so I hope you enjoy it.

    Volume up!

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

Mine is a 2012 spider. Pulled the vacuum lines so the baffles stay open all the time. The exhaust crackles, burps, etc. with the top down it sounds great inside the car. With the top up l put the rear window down. It sounds great inside the car. I have no idea what it sounds like at full song outside the car becuz l am the one who drives it.

I have had the lines unplugged for a year. See no reason to buy a switch or reconnect the plugs. I am happy with it.

I have driven a 2011 coupe with the original software. My 2012 spider sounds better from inside the car to me.

Is it possible to go back to unflashed on a 2012+?

There's a large thread on this topic here somewhere and if I remember correctly...the consensus was no. Carlo can chime in. He and some other members here were trying to get software built to replicate the old pops and burbles.
