Evening, sorry boring detail question again but can anyone post a photo of the original type of P clips used to clip the plastic pipe and wire to the front of the spare wheel housing leading to the washer bottle.

Just noticed both of mine are missing as there are holes.

    It's for a 1979 carb euro car.

    Thanks very much.

If no one posts a pic in the next couple hours, I'll take one of my 79 when I get home after work.

Perfect thank you David. Looks like you have a big project happening!

Glad I asked, as it's not the rubber lined clip I was going to order.

Interesting to see if Justin's is the same.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Alex,

these are the interesting detail questions, since I never noticed a clip there. Thanks to having an inhouse garage I just went downstairs and took this pic.
'80 carb car. Rubber lined clip. I never changed anything and I assume there was never anything changed. Clip seems to be too old, rusty and dirty :)

    Best Regards
    Martin

Thank you Martin, David and Justin. So some time between 1979 and 1980 they switched from all metal clip to rubber lined. All metal it is... if I can find them!

Doubt this will be 'point losing' thing, but nice to get it right in any case.

    Thanks again guys

In the US, these are sold as "insulated p-clips/clamps" for pennies in the coaxial cable and wiring sections of home improvement stores. Pull off the rubber if you want bare.

Thank you, I've found the perfect ones same colour as yours and no rubber.

Is it fastened with a normal rivet, I note yours has a cap?

Yes I have a bunch in several sizes. But they are neither yellow zinc, nor do they have rounded edges below the rubber.
    Alex,
are there two or just one clip on your car inside the spare tire bucket? For me it looks like they switched to rubber insulated when switching to only one clip.

    Best Regards
    Martin

That's the exact conclusion I came to. Mine has two holes, so the same as Justin's car... metal only.

These are the clips I found which look identical...

So yours is correct as per the photo in my first post, has single rubber lined clip.

Those are very close! Good find.

Two holes on mine and riveted.

If you want me to measure the rivets...

    I will...

but you have to admit to everyone here you have a problem [emoji3]
