even if mac wont paint it body color or if its ridiculously expensive, how hard could it be to have it wrapped in vinyl? its inside a cavity so would never notice it. many wrap the roof of exotics and that's much more noticeable.

I'm almost certain MSO will do it considering how extensive the other stuff they've done in the past has been. Painting a few body pieces shouldn't be a problem at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if it because a common MSO option at some point either.

Maybe common to try disguise sockets in beginning but watch other companies copy it and then people get used to it. Same thing happened with audis oversized grill 10 yrs ago

No doubt they will do it for a price, but it is interesting that McLaren appear to be making a conscious effort not to steer anyone in that direction.

I hope they do offer a uni color paint at some point. For the roof and those dark eyes .

Maybe it just slows down production and they want to move cars quickly in the beginning. Most companies seem to increase their option offerings as the model matures.

Has gotten great reviews from AutoCar and PH so far. I think AC said it's the best car you can buy in the class.

    WOW! To great reviews.

Where are the rest of the reviews?

.2GT3 has like 100 reviews already...

Um, the embargo lifted like a few hours ago and it's 4am in Europe. What do you expect?

In any case, let me Google that for you:

    https://www.google.com/search?q=720s+review&oq=720s+review&aqs=chrome.0.0j69i60l2j0j69i60j0.7550j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#q=720s+review&newwindow=1&tbm=nws

All the results are really positive.

"Haydn Baker, the man who led development of the 720S, said his baby is quicker around a circuit than the 675LT was—exceeding the original engineering brief for the project—and admitted that it’s actually faster than the almighty 903-hp P1 around most tracks. That fact alone pretty much justifies the $290,000 price of admission."

"Stepping in to the 720S' was, tiny irritants aside, a rather transformative experience. The technology, pace, handling and feel of the thing makes not only its predecessor, the 650S, feel outdated (even though it's still a stunning machine), but pretty much everything else feel a bit old as well. Your move, everyone else."

    Who cares?

"It’s arguable that a Ferrari 488 GTB, Audi R8 or Lamborghini Hurracán still makes a better noise, but there’s little doubt that now, in almost every other area you care to mention, the McLaren is the benchmark."

"In isolation, the McLaren 720S is an exceptional achievement, but as a replacement for the already-excellent 650S it is nothing short of extraordinary – yet another amazing leap for a brand that seems to have come a very long way in a relatively short space of time. Never before has so much speed, quality, refinement and entertainment been available under just one roof. Ferrari’s 488 has company, and how."

I personally could only half care what any mag review says about a car BUT especially couldn't care less about what some YouTubers say. I'll form my own opinion through experience and go from there. All these YouTube (salomondrin especially) are so annoying to me I want to hurl. Mr JWW is the only one I like and mostly because I think he has a fine delivery and is never annoying or biased.

EDIT: I watched the video. It wasn't bad. And it wasn't biased. Just some peoples opinions (who have decent experience with fast cars). The person who freaked out on Mclaren life is an idiot and typical of that board. They absolutely lose their mind when one bit of negativity is thrown towards the Mclaren brand.

I've long said a car can be too fast to be fun on a public road. I think, for me, the 458 is about the pinnacle of drama and speed and in that I've driven faster cars (LT, Veyron) but didn't have more fun because the power difference can't be exploited. Perhaps the new Turbo S because the launch is so good and that's usable more often than you'd think. But a car can be just too damn fast (think 918/P1) to enjoy on a road for more than 2-3 seconds or you're breaking every speed limit there is. Sad truth is Mclaren and other car manufacturers could now be making these cars too fast and our crumbling infrastructure and antiquated speed laws just can't keep up!

When comparing 488 and 720 to buy comes down to which one is available, then which one looks and sounds better to you. Thats going to be it as driving dynamics are so good and closely matched for both that it doesn't even matter

    Haha so true

And I agree its fun to see the reviews but its not like they're god; one reviewer was actually a lousy driver. You really need to try for yourself.

Money talks though. If it's boring, why is he spending 350000 on one?

488 is boring too when you drive it on crappy roads like they did the 720s. At the end of the day, they've barely even driven the car and didn't get to test it on the track.

I couldn't watch more than a few minutes of that video. I don't get how they get so many people to watch their stuff...it's almost insufferable.
