Indeed, this car will be very special.

In helping manage this project, I am enjoying looking over all the interior upholstery pieces that Luis Meza is re-upholstering.

The two things that are tricky in restoring an LP400S's interior are the seats (more on those later) and the glove-box door.

To get it just right, certain interior components are done twice, sometimes even three times - I am told this was the case when the cars were being built new as well, that's why there are variances in standard between the finished cars.

In this case the material is correct in both color & texture.

The one area I would like Luis to redo is around the glovebox door to eliminate the wrinkling, and to define the bezel of the lock recess more clearly.

We'll see a new-and-improved version of this part soon.

Thanks, guys! I really love all my cars from my Lotus Esprit to my Miura and everything in between. It's amazing how therapeutic they can be when properly enjoyed. The restoration process is also something I truly enjoy when in the right hands! I buy what I love and what strikes me emotionally. When I saw this black S3 coming down the street for the first time, I knew I wasn't leaving without it.

Hello Chris(CNpapa24). I don't frequent this board much but just came across this thread and its interesting to see the history and journey of this car, as well as your Miura in another thread. They are going to be outstanding when done.

    Hi Brad,

Thanks for the kind words. I'm certain your paintwork will be magnificent on both the Countach and Miura! I look forward to seeing them in the flesh very soon.

    Best,

    Chris
