Isn't that made with magnesium forged from pure lava deposits of mount Etna? If so I doubt it. Would be interesting to see if a carbon fiber piece could be fabricated as a replacement.

It is magnesium and is weldable. It is also removable so you can replace it if you can find one.

I had the same thing on my last F430. It was replaced under warranty however I understand the root cause is incorrect adjustment in the roof or weakening of the elastic straps, which should be checked periodically.

I bought my F430 with the same broken piece... I thought maybe someone pulled on it and cracked it... I was thinking maybe some type of super strong epoxy glue? But I never attempted to fix mine ..... yet

Nope, both where different versions/modifications of cyanoacrylates....neither did jack....guess I could try JB welb but that being said I think I finally got a line a on part from a member here so that should be even better if it pans out.

The indy guys I know said its between 7-20K for a new frame (the part is not sold by itself) although the dealer gave me a quote for just over 3k including labor for new one.....crazy the dealer is quoting a frim fee that's way less that the indy guys....but cool for me, extra cool is the used part pans out good....

Same thing on my car on the driver's side. I wonder why this is a frequent issue and if they always fail on the driver's side.

Someone said this is a removable part. When I last looked at this years ago, it did not look like it was easily removable, but maybe I'm wrong.

If you could get this off, it would be easy to take to a weld shop to fix.

It would be tough for glue to work unless you had some backing plate to help add strength.

pieces are aluminum. Can be welded and painted to match. I had both sides done over the years and still holding well.
