I finally got my first Ferrari! I actually bought 2, a F355 6SP Spider and a 360 CS. The 355 was the car when I was 18 and just got my license and knew I had to have one once I started a collection. The car has 3050 miles, one of the lowest in the country, and a perfect (original) interior which is very hard to find, red/tan. I already have a list of to do for both cars but the 355 needs: Convertible roof not working- Everything works but the driver seat doesn't move forward. Front hood latch - one of the latch (on driver side) is not catching. The garage who did the PPI said it just needs adjustment. I couldn't find any threads on this, can anyone point me in the right direction? Exhaust is OEM, I will be changing it, my local shop (well respected on here) advised on Milemiglia VS tubi because of drone. I will also need a belt/major as we don't know exactly when it was done last, I just don't want to part ways with her already!!! for multiple weeks. Here are some pictures I will take more today and post Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow! You jumped in head first! The 355 looks absolutely beautiful! What a find with only 3k miles and a 6 speed! Congratulations! You will enjoy them both!
Thanks guys. A collector was selling a few cars. I wanted the 355 and was about to buy a 993 TT for 160K as well. A good friend of mine whom is more knowledgeable about cars told me, why don't you offer 275 for both cars instead (would have made the 360CS 178K) we ended up settling for 284. The 360 cs as 7K miles. He told me it would be a much better buy. Both PPI came in close to perfect. I drove it when picking it up in Beverly Hills and loved it. I have faster cars but the CS is such a cool car, and a very nice raw sound. This AM I almost fixed the latching by adjusting the bracket, it is almost good but if you pull a bit hard it will pop out - The other side doesn't. Now I need to find a way to get the top down before it gets to 110 F here in phoenix.
During the PPI (from well respected from this forum garage) the mechanic saw the 355 and said the interior must have been redone, I will inspect and get back to you. He called me 2 hours later saying, "it is all original" I have never seen a 355 in this condition, actually I never see a 355 with so little miles period.
Cant stop. I mean the 355 is a time capsule. the 360's noise over 6K RPM is extraordinary. I was actually afraid of not liking the cars that much. I was always into faster (turbo) cars. Overtime I drove Ferraris I didn't enjoy the experience. Looking for a 458 two years ago, my first supercar, I ended up test driving a Mclaren 650 and fell in love. 2 years forward, I love the speed of the 650s but those 2 bring some, if not more, emotions to me, Just different, AND AT LOWER SPEED. I love it! Now looking for more modern F car with more miles, that is close to bottom of depreciation curve so I can drive it more.
Great combo. Congrats and enjoy. I am next door in Mesa. Look forward to seeing your adventures. Robb
Congrats way to jump in head first! I just bought my first Ferrari in October of last year and absolutely love it!
Capristo is too expensive for me. my local mechanic (well respected here) told me mile miglia, he can get a good deal. If not a fellow Fchatter is selling his Tubi.
LOL yes, I use to race and have friends at shops doing fab/metal work, I just don't like to get rape for a metal tube.
Capristo is 1k more than a Tube if I'm not mistaken. The sound difference is worth way more than that. Once you hear a Capristo in person you'll want it lol Not sure how much Mille Miglia is but none of these mufflers are cheap.
Happy to demonstrate the hypnotic qualities of the capristo on the 355 in AZ. But be warned the siren song will win you over quickly... Robb
