Hello Fchat : I've been reading/lurking on here for some time ever since i bought my 2013 Red Spyder last October from Boardwalk Ferrari Dallas. I came from a white 2014 Mclaren 12C spyder which i only had for a year before taking the plunge into the world of Ferrari. While the Mclaren was light, rigid, and extremely fast, i couldnt shake the nagging feeling that the front end was ugly, and the headlight condensation issue they keep having is not acceptable in a car of that magnitude. I understand all supercars come with their own quirks, but the Mclaren's werent something I could live with. Its analogous to a hot ass chick whose craziness you can live with because you love her that much (because shes super hot). Well it wasn't the case with the Mac. Ultimately, i realized I was only lying to myself all along. Looked into Ferraris and decided for my first one i wanted the classic red. While the tan seats are the traditional combo I preferred black sport seats. Luckily Boardwalk had two so I picked the one with the sport seats. I replaced the base stock rims with the gunmetal 488 rims, and opened up the valves. All i can say is WoW! The sound on these cars is something all car enthusiasts should hear before they die. Nothing, and i mean NOTHING, sounds like a Ferrari. Anyways, thanks everyone for all the useful info I've gleaned since joining this board. Will try to post pix soon. welcome to Fchat. Just wondering how you chose your handle. There may be misreading glancing at it quickly ...
Congrats on the new ride! I just picked up a 2012 white 458 as well from Boardwalk Ferrari. My first F car and it's awesome.

How much did you end up paying for those 488 wheels? I certainly don't blame you for making the switch...
It had a 7.9K miles. 239K (they were asking for 249 but yeah right like i was going to pay what they were asking=) and the Rims were 9K. I was pleased with what they gave me for the 12 C (sooooooo glad i got outta that one). The rims i couldve got on this board for alot cheaper but overall I'm happy with the purchase. They came with the titanium bolts. So far I've put about 800 miles in it. I plan on driving this car, because it's not a mutual fund, resale value be damned. Andrew with exoticare did the mats. I love his work and this is my third set (bought a set with my R8 and another as a present for my buddy's orange Mac 650). Only gripe is his mats, while thick and plush, tends to curl up. Anyone know any solid tips to prevent this please let me know. Thanks all for the kind words. I may get other cars in life but I'll always know this may be the best one ever, in my humble opinion. I drove my friend's 488 and was shocked how good it sounded for being a Turbo. He had his valves pinned as well. However it still didn't sound as good as mine. Mine has the crackles and pops and running down the gears and hearing that engine rev shift match is nirvana for any driver, ferrari fan or not. Cheers, Steve
Awesome spec, and I am loving the 488 wheels on her, nice OEM+ look! Give me a shout if there is anything I can ever help with! Welcome Steve!
Hi S.H.T. Your car looks really good particularly like what you have done with the rims. Congratulations and keep us updated on your adventures with it!! Regards Michael Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
