Lets hope so. His confidence must be up now, a pole, a win, and close to Hamilton since the 1st race.

Fingers crossed he'll be the faster Merc driver ;)

He has to if he wants to keep his job at Mercedes.

If he doesn't, who would have him back? Williams perhaps?

That works for me if it gives Ferrari an advantage. Otherwise, . . . . meh.

Several repeats of the Russian GP should be enough for Bottas to calmly assert himself; we don't need another spat at Mercedes like in previous years.

+1. Bottas is doing really well. I like the way he is going about his work. Calm. Determined. Effective. Great to see him seizing this opportunity with both hands. And... he's clearly going to take points off Ham which can only be a good thing for Vettel and Ferrari!

Which is what I meant. If it's only between the two Mercedes guys for the lead, I would be bored to tears.

He's employed at Mercedes to be a #2 to Hamilton...staying within 3 tenths of him would guarantee his job anyways. Beating him? Well that wasn't written in the script.

If he was significantly down on him, well then yes he might struggle finding a decent job again...

It is funny: after the first two GPs it was said unisono here that he is the No.2 and no match for Lewis and after winning his first race all of the sudden he is expected to put Lewis in the shadow...Sorry but don´t see that yet after just one race. Bottas proves that the Mercedes is still strong enough for both drivers to win and it is not only because of Lewis and this is great to see but it is a little bit to early to write Lewis off, he started late into the 2016 season as well.

I think he will outperform Hamilton. He really reminds me of Kimster in his younger days. Ice cold, and could not care less. Lewis meanwhile...oh wait there's something in my eye..

VB is really fast and has a chance of winning a championship if all of the sudden LH's car weirdly "breaks down" a lot like last year. I do think a clash between the two would mean ze german (vettel) would have a better chance at winning the championship this year. my guess is that it would be up to the team to decide whether or not they're sticking with VB as the whipping boy and only allowed to win races when LH is out of the race or having car issues.

Ideally you want Kimi either ahead of both, or at least splitting them. That way, merc can't manipulate the results in Elton's favour, and if bottles has a brain, that's something he himself will promote. If he gets in front he has to firstly aim to secure a buffer between him and his teammate, that way, the inevitable team orders won't come into play. Remember, Mercedes are not coy in using them - just ask Nico rosberg how even in his championship year he was often vilified for being 'unfair' on elton by preventing him overtaking, yet was always a gentleman, allowing him past in Monaco when he could have simply kept him behind for much longer and destroyed his race

There is little doubt that Bottas is on a mission for number 1. And number 1 ain't Hamiltion!

Who would like to see some serious wheel-banging between HAM and BOT?

The Finnski has a real shot at the Championship. I hope he gets mega-aggressive.

ANY wheel banging between the top 2-3 cars following turn 1 would be nice, regardless of driver or manufacturer.
