Lizard skin reminds me of my dad's watches when I was a kid... Fond memories... Of early 1980s. Ha! ;)

Dave is right about leather on a dress watch. Any leather that matches your favorite belt and shoe combinations, is my suggestion.

But again I think you'll have a nice dress watch. That thin case surround and straight lugs is a classic elegant look.

My 1907 Vacheron Constantin/ JE Caldwell conversion ..Some people hate the idea of a conversion from pocket watch to wrist . For me if its done right , or high end movements going unused , I love them ..Had this one for about 8 years now . It is delicate but only usual maintenance needed .

Yes Dave, pretty crazy.. The dial of course is not original, thinking about converting it back. Everything else is . If you get a second look up James Emmot Caldwell. He opened J.E. Caldwell & Co in Philadelphia in 1839. Still open today.

I didn't want to start a whole new thread on this and if you feel I should have please accept my apology and I'll get this deleted.

I want to show you how easy it is to get duped in the high end watch world. The engraving font, spacing, style, and method on this case is scary and amazingly accurate. In the past you could always catch these far east made fake cases, but this one is as close to perfect as I've seen.....if they hadn't made one simple mistake it would have been passed off as legit........can you see it?

If they hadn't made that one simple mistake that case would have been passed off as legit. Its that good.

Wow, looks like the counterfeiters are really upping their game. That's one reason I bought my Rolex new from an AD.

As it has such a basic mistake it is not a high end counterfeit watch! I have seen counterfeits with guarantee to be one on one the same. Taking that to the dealer would fool them, meaning only the watch maker would discover something to be weird without being able to tell what.
I look at them, smile and walk as it is a personal thing ... knowing you don't have a real one is what turns me off!

100% ..The days of the $50-$100 fakes, have turned into the $500-$1500 fakes.

Also the tool marks in the scallops on the bezel should be vertical

Careful there. Rolex bezels are an enigma at times. Check out the scallop to the right of the escape valve.

Looks familiar. Mine, while worn, appear to be horizontal as well.

I am on a pleasant day wandering aimlessly in San Francisco. I can find Shreve, Tournau and Tourbillion, but where on earth is "Seregin's"?
