Rosso Dino, same color as my old Dino 246 GT. Looks good on the 458, too.

 

That car was at the NSW concour, looked amazing so outside the Ferrari norm which is great to see.

 

Straight outta the '70s. Love it! If there's a color that looks bad on a Maranello, I haven't seen it yet.

 

Never seen that color in person what color is the interior?

Hi Tim,

You seem to come up with ideas about as crazy as I do.

I recently found an original genuine old trailer hitch made for a Jaguar Mark V. As I have a MKV DHC I plan on mounting it, I'll just have to figure out how to get the wires for the rear lamps (park, stop, indicators).

I don't think trailering my Ferrari would be a great idea though, as the MKV only weighs ca 1400kg and the Ferrari 1700+kg. The old Jag does have pulling power however as the straight six has a whopping 110mm stroke. Maybe a small boat on a trailer, of course it would need to be of the same vintage.

Sorry, no 456 photos yet, I need to get the car serviced and also my plates are not valid before June. But then I will be driving it home, through Germany, Denmark and Sweden...

I have, and that's it. Sorry to buck the trend, but I am afraid I don't like that at all.

This is one of the original Maranello Concessionaires 575M demonstrators, fitted with Fiorano Handling Pack from new, although this was not specified in the original concessionaires' order. The rear 575 badge was also a later addition, as they were not fitted to early UK market cars.

Cost of sump pumps and electricity to run them just to keep the dungeons dry in that cottage must be oppressive all by its self!!

 

John- The 575M badge was not fitted to any of the 575Ms until sometime in CY 2003.

I am not sure what the first RHD 575M was, but this one is fairly early, from around Feb/Mar 2002.

Thanks for the assembly number and serial number. Will add her in. I do not have many "C" 575Ms because most ads give neither SN nor AN.

First drive after a long winter storage, impressive to fire up the engine first time following a seven months storage. The car performed faultless, with each mile, the spirit of the car came back again... What an expirience!

Thank you Martin, the car is completely like it left the facory in 2001.

 

The interior is nero with contrasting orange piping on the seats. Exterior colour was a special order, apparently a Lamborghini "Arancio California".

John- Sounds like you were correct, a bit lighter than Rosso Dino. 40 years kind of dims the memory.

Interesting, in my mind I have always thought of the California as a smaller car than the Maranello when in fact it is a bit taller and even very slightly longer.

 

California is a pretty big car / tall shoulders. I too was surprised when had a chance to spirit one for an afternoon last summer.
