FORMULA 1 VIEWING ALTERNATIVES IN US?

All those damn commercials. I switch (during the commercials) to a Mexican station, called UniMas (commercial free throughout the whole race), and they use the same feed as NBCSN; of course its in Spanish(commentators only). Then I switch back....thats my 2 cents for what its worth.

 

There are usually some lower quality live streams available each race. vipbox.tv is the most consistent but the quality is pretty low.

It's been close to 10 years since I've watched it on tv. The UK coverage and commentary is so much better. If you know someone with an account on a private torrent site like racingfor.me have them pay a small donation to the site to get you an invite. 1080 resolution files are up shortly after each session.

I'd offer but but having been using it for many years my differential is at -300GB [it's hard to have a positive ratio unless you seed immediately after a file pops up] and it'd be 100+ EUR to get an invite through my account. I think there are others here with racingforme accounts.

 

The coverage in the US on UniVision is way better then whats offered on NBC, less commercials, and the picture quality is better too

 

I'd gladly watch twice as many commercials if it meant no Leigh Diffey

I have to try streaming. The last couple of weeks I've been watching the Dodgers play on my computer for free. Reddit posts the links every day. No plug ins, no stupid ads. 720 resolution.

This last race was particularly bad because during the side by side commercials you could see drivers were talking but you couldn't hear anything. Then, they cut out completely when Vettel as pitting.

HERE IS WHAT REALLY FRIES ME about NBC

they put way too much of their OWN advertising of shows and upcoming events during the race. Then they put in this stupid "fluff" stuff like showing the crowds, the city, some people standing around doing nothing -- all while the race is going on. It's maddening! You just cut away for 8 minutes and now you're going to show me pictures of the happy waving crowd????

Hamilton had passed Vettel for the lead and the commentators didnt even notice it until half a lap had passed. Amazing stuff.

 

Because it was missed during the commercial break.

"Lets show you the pass Hamilton made for the lead while you were away...."

Also what's with Hobbs and Matchett? They get into a little pissing match like every race now

 

Unfortunately the alternatives are not necessarily 100% legal, so can't be discussed very openly, but...

Someone I know (*wink) uses downloads Qualifying, Races, Ted's Notebook, etc. using a torrent client (such as Tixati). There are forums on Reddit, I have been told (*wink), that publish the links soon after the race. The races are shared in Sky Sports' "ultra-high definition" and commercial free.

The only downsides are that a good internet connection is required and the races can't be watched live.

 

They commentary is mostly in spanish, but the radio communications are still in english, and the interviews are sometimes in english.... and if you dont speak spanish its a great way to learn!

 

yup....AAAAAANNNNNDDDD you see the podium celebration first on the Mexican channel while NBCSN is on several commercial breaks...they(mexican commentators) translate.

Does anybody know which Univision channel on U-verse broadcasts the F1 races? NBC is absolute crap indeed. And why not hire a freaking Americans? Come on.
