i am trying to organize an event around the US GP this year.
other than me, most people dont really want to be there for practice and qualifying, so i may only need the sunday deal.

but i do want accommodation for saturday night, transfers to the circuit or parking, meals and vip stuff at the circuit, and then good seats for race day.

can those who have been before give me some pointers on where i want to sit, what companies provide the best package deals, and anything else you might think of.

    thanks

You mean you want to block seats, or get a box??

I have the info for tickets at the track....Turn 1 or GS will be huge money but entertains a lot of folks..that's the only supported catering though.

What is your proposed head count???

I can get you limo vendors and such.

I use the Holiday Inn Express in Pleasant Valley, as it does not show as an "Austin hotel", and it is quiet...anything downtown is crazy $$ and farther from the track.

Lost Pines resort is the closest "high end" venue.

Turn 2 Trackside Suites would be a happy compromise, and great location.

You will have to lock in a three day package, and sell the other day to subsidize the cost.
What you are trying to do is "almost impossible" for one day.

Turn 12(end of the long straight) or Turn 1(up the hill then down the hill).....Book early for hotel stays. There are several parking lots located around the circuit...so they shuttle you to you where your "TURN #" or close to it.

Did you look up the COTA website for VIP package deals??? I believe they have also have where the parking lots are with regards to "packages"

I went to the inaugural....2012 and went to all Practices, Quali, and GP. They do have races to fill in the time in those days I believe. When I went they had the Ferrari Challenge, Porsche Cup and Heritage F1.
    Good Luck and Enjoy

Ive been to COTA numerous times and I must say, it is the armpit of F1. I agree that GS or turn 2 is the best option if $$ is no option. For lodging, Austin and the surrounding area will be slammed. Rooms are hard to come by and security for car is even more sparse. Do you have family in the area you can hit up? There are several newer sub-par hotels recently built west of town but in town, I suggest the Four Seasons or Omni though not sure about security for the car. You definitely don't want to take it to COTA.

    Good luck!

I go every other year or so as a guest of Coca Cola... we get Paddock Passes - its totally the way to go.

You can get Paddock pass packages on F1.com... if its for business -then the write off is worth it.
