It seems like 308s are falling back in value ... How do you guys see them short and long term??

Yes prices are down about 20% since I bought mine 18 months ago (excellent timing Less so for the very best cars. In the short term it means you can enjoy driving your car without worrying about its value and insurance premiums are a little lower. In the long term there will be no petrol and fewer people will know how to drive, if they are even allowed to.
FML currently shows that asking prices for 2Vi's are higher than QV's That is a surprise. Actually, a very big surprise
What this tells me is that after 40 years, the 308 still cannot climb up into 6 figure prices as a matter of routine (glass excluded) In other words, it appears that it will never do what the 250 GTE's were able to finally do
Yeah, last year I said I wouldn't part with my Euro QV for under $115,000. Given all this doom and gloom, I'll be lucky to trade it for a cord of firewood.

Clearly overpriced. A few more months and probably score for half a cord! Next year, pay you to take it!
Well I just bought a fine 23k mile just serviced super original and excellent 84qv for a lot of money by my chinsy standards ... And I like it ... I just hope it's always worth 75-80 ... And if I ever wanna get outa it I don't get hurt ...
... Books records full tool set original window sticker ... Original owner until 2015 ... I'm trying to feel good about myself here ... Help a brother out you guys
If you are worried about the rising and falling of your car's value than you don't have enough money to own one...Hehehehe
Phil that's quite a stable you have there! What a collection of cars! Welcome to 308 ownership! You will do just fine should you ever decide to sell. Big congrats your way sir!
This is my 4th 308 ... But the first one that's been well sorted and pristine - you really get a better sense of what they were like new ... They are low torque rev happy gliders - second gear still requires familiarity and skill - your left foot still hangs up on the dead petal area when depressing the clutch etc. they're wedgey but beautiful - I love the door latches the switch gear - the classic Italian driving position - it's a car I will drive often and enjoy - I hope I can control my impulsivity and she stays in my collection for a long time ...
I still don't see how these cars won't rise the way the Dino did. I think the 308 is one of the most iconic, beautiful Ferraris ever made. I'm not sure what the trigger will be but at some point we will see a rise in value again. I just don't know who will be able to drive a stick anymore as the younger generation are able to buy these cars. At least in the USA anyhow.
Forget that the prices ever went up... get back to driving and enjoying. Was nice to imagine for a short time that I had a half decent investment. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
Thats it! Best wishes with the acquisition. Personally, my 308 has everything I want in an antique exotic. Its great to drive and great to just stand there and look at. You forgot to mention that the darned thing smells good. Values have doubled in the last 5 years. "Drivers" used to be $25k; now they are $50k. Because prices were triple and have come back down doesn't mean the market has proved something. Obviously, the price run-up made a lot of owners think about what else they could do with $90k and they listed their cars. It was amazing the volume of cars that came onto the market and with hopeful "asking" prices. 308s are still rare cars that people desire; in a weird sense it was a buyers market recently as so many owners made their cars available for sale. In the past, it took a lot of hard looking to find a good one. The higher prices shook a lot of nice cars loose.
But we have been saying this now for 25 years. Aside from a few blips on the radar and a handfull of really nice non-drivers here and there, non-glass 3X8's across the board just refuse to get over that 6 figure mark and stay there. I am about to give up ever thinking it is going to happen.
