What do we know about this car?

    the first P4
    Press car: Jan 1967, Berlinetta
    Testing Aeroautodromo Modena, Jan 1967
24 Hours Daytona, race no. 24, Feb 1967
1000 km Monza, race no. 4, April 1967
Le Mans Test, race no.21, April 1967
1000 km Spa, race no. 9, May 1967
Le Mans, race no. 21, June 1967
converted to barchetta (Ferrari calls it: versione aperta)
BOAC 500 Brands Hatch, race no. 7, July 1967

    Sold in 68 to Wilkins
1969 David Clarke, serviced by Wilson.
    1988 Albert Obrist
    1996 Bernie Ecclestone
    1998 Mc Caw
    2000 Stroll

Restored by Bob Smith in 2004, what did he do?

Does it still have 237 engine no. 1 and 603R gearbox no. 9 or is it now fitted with 237 engine no. 2 and 603R no. 6?

Is it Classiche certified with the Red book or the White book?

Judging by the pictures I have in my archive it still has the original-style fuel, oil and water systems.
    Great car.

in many magazines, books etc there is controversy about the race no's, entries.

Most have race no. 3 for 0856 at Monza and race no. 24 for 0856 at Le Mans race.

0858 was the no. 3 at Monza
0858 was the no. 24 at Le Mans
0858 did not race the 1000 km at Spa

Bandini tested the car at Monza in March 1967 as well.
Pre Le Mans 24H 0856 can also been seen testing at the Aeroautodromo Modena.

Although Geoff Shilton of Shiltech worked on 0856 for David Clarke when at Graypaul, I don't think he's worked on it since and when working for himself.

You may want to add this:

August 1968: Sold by the factory to Maranello Concessionaires Ltd.
November 1968 sold to Richard S. Wilkins.
November 2, 1969 sold by Wilkins to David A. Clarke.
November 1988 sold by Clarke to Albert Obrist.
    1995 (not 1996) to Ecclestone.
    March 1998 to Cavallino Holdings.
    November 2000 to Stroll.

So the story that 0856 was gifted by the factory to Dr Wilkins for looking after Mike Parkes' broken leg(s?) is not true?

True but the deal went thru Maranello Concessionaires/Colonel Ronnie Hoare.

So barchetta.cc info re race history for 0856 is incorrect.

    330 P4 s/n 0856

....and would David Piper's 2 new GTO and 0836 P2/3 deals have also gone through Maranello Concessionaires' Colonel Ronnie Hoare rather than direct with Enzo Ferrari himself?

I forgot, I think DP has said himself that the Colonel didn't want all the money up front for the cars so deals must have gone through him rather than EF.

    Barchetta.cc sigh :)
Lots of books, websites and magazines use their info...
    Maybe even auction houses
No access to factory records or event organizers like ACO, FIA etc

0858 is livered as the Le Mans "21" car now. (At least when I saw it in Paris)
Better and historically correct would be the Ecurie Francorchamps "24" livery.

Is it just me, or in the second picture, at Graypaul, does it look like the same motor mount arrangement as 0846?
