Because there were too many 308s built throughout the years, a lot of them were distroyed, salvaged, not well maintained, high mileaged, full of stories, non restored, etc. Those cars will never demand a lot of money. However, the low mileage and no story cars will rise in value and appreciate over time.

I heard almost the exact statement made about the 250 GTE. More than once, over many years.

When my car is happy and running well 308 values are high. When it's not running, and I'm mad at it, 308 values are low. This cycle repeats.

Just look at Porsche 911 prices if an investment is why you own a 308. A decent Porsche is bringing near a 100K and look how many thousands of those were made. I would rather have a 308 than a journeyman 911 any day. I am not speaking about 930 Turbo's or some of the other limited volume 911 derivatives.

Let me help you ...give up now, it's just better for you to accept.

Since the turn of 2017 I gave up ...notice I no longer post in this section or talk values anymore.

    Step 1 is admitting it.
    Step 2 is accepting it.
    Step 3 is stop posting
    Step 4 stop caring

Step 5 - life is much better

I'm one of the newer owners, got my 308 about seven months ago. In that time I've put about six thousand miles on it and enjoyed every one of them. Took it out yesterday for a nice drive, treated to thumbs up, waves and high fives. Just taking it out in public on a Sunday afternoon brings joy to complete strangers lives. I'm investing in mankinds well being. Whatever happens to 308 values in the future, that will be for my heirs to worry about.

All this speculation -------- I hope folks bought them because they actually like them.

    My favorite saying:

"Don't buy a painting you wouldn't hang in your house".

It's been 31 years for me since I was fortunate enough to acquire a Ferrari. I haven't appreciated it, or cared for it any differently during any of the market cycles. The weather is getting nice out, I hope to get some more driving enjoyment in ASAP :)

Beautifully said. Four years of ownership for me and I still feel the way you describe.

I admire your miles; I only average a couple of hundred miles a month.

Many dealers bought stock in 2015/6 and don't want to take the hit so it helps to keep the impression of a strong market.

Short term there will be some up and down as the market tries to figure out how much it wants a 308/328 vs. say a 360.

Long term the cars should do well. Maybe not shoot to the moon but they will hold their own. 308/328 give owners a full Ferrari experience without destroying the wallet. It's a great combination.

We'll see how the market thinks of these models in the future. The question is, what can you buy for the same money and would you rather have a 308/328 or that other thing?

I'm considering fitting a propane tank and a towbar to mine.

    Would that enhance the price?

    Will post photos when done.

    Comments (sensible ones) please.

May be hard for 308s, except for the few pristine survivors or Vetro to break 100k at least for a while. With the 360, 355, 430 etc. all in this range it's got a lot of competition. Timeless classic vs mass produced modern is a dilemma most in this sector of the market will consider with I'd think.

Not a comparison. I don't think there are many people out there who would compare a 308 to one of the more modern cars anymore. The 308 is solidly into classic status, and attracts a different buyer.

That's not true and there is certainly an overlap. Last year I sold my 308 and looked at a few 360s, amongst others. I ended up buying another 308, but the 360 was certainly in contention for a time.

Same here, i was looking at trading my 308 for a 360 with the difference paid to me.
Every time I would test drive a 360 i would really love the drive, but driving home in the 308 put an end to my 'upgrade'...

The 308 wins hands down, what she lacks in speed she makes up in emotion....very hard to explain, but if you love your 308 you will get my meaning....

This i would consider as it is a Bucket List for me to own a front engine v12 Ferrari, and i love the usability of the 550....
