Any one happen to know what ever happened to the Liberty Walk F40?

The Liberty Walk F40 In High Res - Speedhunters

I recall it being for sale a few years back. I'm curious to if it's still in its current form, or if it was brought back to OEM.

Wanted to share this lovely wheel that HRE specifically designed for an F40 customer in Europe. Perhaps he or she is a member here on Ferrari Chat? :)

That's #89944 in Halton Hills, CDN.
    And behind is #56335, a 288 GTO.

Thank you for the numbers Marcel.

Do you recall the number of the F40 that was crashed at the Mosport race track outside of Toronto? It was delivered new to Gentry Lane Ferrari on Dupont Street in Toronto but could not be registered for street use there in 1991. That F40 was repaired and sold at one of the AZ USA car auctions for about 600k as I recall.

I would definitely have a set of those if I had an F-40. Very nice!

Great to see its re surfaced. I recall an F40 resto online a few years back that fits this description, will see if I can find a link.

I didn't think Gilmours had plexi side windows in period, only Masons?

The blurb says its had new suspension, those coils look very high up on the shocks, I imagine the rear coil adjusters need dropping down on the back to sort that ride height.

    Very cool history.

The auction text describes this F40 as "non-adjustable suspension", and if that's the case, then something is seriously off as regards the suspension ride-height! The rear especially sits too high, and at speed and high-speed cornering this would be a safety issue. I see so many refurbished cars with the ride-height set too high these days, factory specs for the correct setting do exist. Not a difficult remedy, but still, I'm surprised the Seller allowed the car to be photographed for the auction catalog like this.

Here's a photo from Maranello in late October '88 when they took delivery. Both on Italian export plates, EE 661-AK and EE 662-AK respectively. As we can see none of the cars had sliding windows, both were later fitted with the three row 'Mason Spec.' rear screen/engine cover though. Earlier post shows that Mason have kept his but the car in the auction seems to have sadly lost this distinctive feature.

Agree on the ride height comments, needs to come down almost 2" at the back. They must have been in a hurry to get the car ready for the auction?

Will have a much closer look at the preview ;)
