A monumental task, a nice thought though.

Ive published the Ferrari book (288 GTO) and the Lamborghini book (Miura), but bear in mind that these works were being researched, photographed for & written a clear decade ago, when the reception towards and the economics for the printed medium was very different.

I would love to do something for the Countach, but at present most of my time is spent chasing Ferrari Supercars and as my family reminds me, there are only 24 hours in a day!

At present I am trying to build my archive of details and images from people who were at the factory when the cars were actually being built to produce images such as those below.

No promises, but, we'll see what happens.

French connection - does the temporary registration 103 W 93 mean anything?

Still trying to get the chassis number of this Downdraft, seen here with French (temporary or dealer?) registration 4158 TT 75 apparently dated November 1985.

    Any help appreciated.

I am happy to share it with you.

I have some history with your black/tan Downdraft HLA12210 as I sold it from its California owner many years ago.

It was hard to tell through the glare but I'm visiting London on business and peeked through the window at H R Owen. Tucked behind a super trofeo track car and next to a white aventador S was a red countach. Their website shows a down draft. The car looks amazing. Hard to believe it's 30ish years old and just as wild as day 1.

On a side note I saw two aventador S, a huracan, a huracan track car and a downdraft which was awesome but I missed the centenario by like an hour which is a huge bummer.

From what I understand there were a couple of small cosmetic mods made by Tonino including a wood steering wheel!

It's interesting that despite all of the treasures that sit in the museum, it is only necessary to place stanchions around the Countach. I guess it must be the one car that visitors want to get a little too familiar with;-)

Yes, the Miura was the only other car with them.

the wood steering wheel from MOMO is the one it puzzles me more ...looks like something belonging to a 90's SAAB sedan

    The Countach apparently needs them.

In the old Museo you could walk up to this car, open the door and sit in it.

    And many people did.

For such an important car, in such an important location, that is unfortunate.

On the other hand, the Bertone SpA Downdraft was un-messed with.
