Haha I actually think it looks great. I ordered mine with the same interior, although I had a few black contrasting items inside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Blue dash and steering wheel as well? That's what kills it for me. But, that's why people like to order their own cars. We all have different tastes.
Exterior was white. Steering wheel and top of dash were black, and inserts in door also black. This is a bit more adventurous, but I think it works! I am quite partial to non-conventional colour combos on F-cars, though. I think the important point to make here is that is weirdos are out there, and we will buy your strange colour combo from you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Black dash would have worked. This is a bit much but to each his own. Like I said- the exterior is great!
That's 1 car, you can find deals if you look around. It might not be in California or Florida, but you can find them. I talk to Ferrari dealers regularly and know these cars aren't easy to move. High option cars especially are going for behind sticker.
Didn't mean to discourage you, but trust me, there are PLENTY of ridiculously optioned 488s out there, primarily 2016s. Reason being they were the first ones to be ordered, you essentially had to get a high MSRP if you wanted an early allocation. This is how dealers made a killing to take advantage of the demand, since no new Ferrari in North America is being sold for over MSRP. Here's another one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-Ferrari-488-GTB-Base-Coupe-2-Door-/112410586640?hash=item1a2c316e10:g:17EAAOSwBt5ZHIXd&vxp=mtr The interior looks like Chuck E. Cheese's.
Just look online and see what everyone is selling them for. Used cars are selling under MSRP now, so just check out the market and make an offer. The dealer will either accept or decline any offer. You can make 10 offers even if you want. They'll sell you the car for whatever they're willing to sell it for. Getting opinions on the market won't change the dealer's position.
Your not discouraging me, I've already had a 2016 488 gtb and 2017 spider and sold both. Also I got one of the first 488 gtb's and my sticker was $280k, so all of them weren't high msrp. Back on topic, If I were the OP, I would go make offers of 5-10% off of msrp and see what happens.
Since very early March, I have made offers on at least 5 488 GTB's. Since I am able to order one at MSRP late this year for a Q1 delivery, I was not wanting to go very much over MSRP. There was a $351K sticker triple red paint that sold for $331. Cars in the high 320 range were 8-10k off while cars that were less than 300K were 300-310K. I had money and was ready to go. Some of the options were not ones that I would consider ordering though. There is spread sheet that helps compare cars. I would advise you to spec one exactly the way you will order and see how close you come with used ones. There was not the exact car out there for me. Either way good luck in your search!
I was under the impression flipping a brand new Ferrari within 12 months of ownership/within the current model year, was a big No No... There's a big difference between "your" and "you're" my friend.
It's a big no no for people who don't know what they are doing. Appreciate the grammar help, you may actually be good for something...
Back to OP. The lower sticker will prob be closer to msrp. You can prob get lower than msrp on higher sticker cars. There is still a year wait on 488's. A friend bought a used 488 this pat September for 15k over. He put a deposit down for a new one. I think he was able to order his car a couple of months ago but wanted to wait to get an 2018. He just ordered it last week and delivery is set for September. It will be interesting to see what they give him on trade.. I'm sure others are waiting on 2018 as well so maybe there will be an increase on used 488's in the market. The problem is you can play the waiting game all day long. I recommend you find the car you absolutely love and buy it. You will probably pay a little more than you want but it's worth it. I know I did and I never looked back. If you can't find the car you love then order it. Life is too short!
This is a forum for enthusiasts to gain knowledge from each other, so taking personal shots at people yields nothing to advance the conversation. Based on my understanding, OP believes a 5% discount is negligible and would rather order a new 488 instead. Perhaps you could PM the OP the dealer you worked with to sell your 488 with a $280K MSRP, as perhaps they may have been able to source other cars similar to yours as well, without purple interiors/etc. May not make sense to purchase a used 488 with $50K in options you don't need, even with the added discount, it won't mean much when you factor in those option costs in the end.
How was that ever allowed to happen....I thought the factory would have rejected that order...? Regards Michael
Yah that thing is fuggly. I literally wouldn't pay the taxes alone for a car that awful unless I could tear out the entire interior and replace it.
Just sold my "17 488 GTB. After 6 months, not 12 Mine was highly optioned $355k sticker and could only get $300k This is 1st time I did not get sticker on trade. Took dealer 6 weeks to sell.
Yeah, unfortunately the market just isn't there for the 488/488 spider as it used to be for first year Ferrari models. As others have mentioned, the 488 is more of a refresher model than a brand new model like the 458 was when it first came out. The 488 is better in many ways to the 458, but isn't a huge change like the 458 was to the 430. Also, lot of competition out there...
I wouldn't go that far, high MSRP cars have never fared well, including the 458. Options like CF here and there, certain wheels, extra cost paint, etc. never meant anything at resale/trade-in.
Wow, that's really bad news. What city do you live in? I haven't sold my GTB yet, but I'm not prepared to let it go for $300k. Looks like there will be sexy Spider available to some lucky buyer soon. 😓
Seriously who specs these things: 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB Base Coupe 2-Door | eBay How many goats were slaughtered inside that car? CPIGUY, I take it you will walk away from your incoming Spider if your 488 GTB doesn't sell? That's going to hurt! I will admit, a yellow colored car is always a tough sell, you either love it or you hate it.
This is a very valid and important point. We're all Ferrari guys here, but goodness the market has become competitive. McLaren, Aston, Porsche/Audi/Lambo and all of the other super-models from the various other brands are all competing for the same $$$ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
