We went to the race last year and sat is section 12.

This section was a pretty easy walk from the pit/paddock area where we will be most of the time.

If I choose seats in section 1 (across from the pits) for this year, is the bridge over from the pit/paddack area close by and easy to get back and forth? Or is it a long walk to and from that area to get to a bridge?

Having a hard time finding a picture or map of the bridge/s leading into the infield seating and can not remember.

Or, am I better off just picking section 11/12 which are on the same side?

    Thanks for any insight/help.

I am in section 11 at Senna's corner. Viewing should be perfect.

Last time I was in Montreal I got one ticket for Senna and one for the hairpin. On different days of course

    Thanks for the responses.

I ended up picking a lower section in 11.

Robb, hope to see you there.

I'll be wearing a Ferrari hat. Should be easy to spot! 😃

    Just a tip,
If you are sitting in Grandstand 11 or 12 you want to sit in the section thats the closest to the other grandstand if that makes sense.
I forget the section numbers and letters and there isn't a seating chart online or even printed that I know of. I think they do that for a reason so you rely on the track to tell you whats available and where to sit when buying tickets.

    Wilson-
If you were going to sit in Grandstand 1 , the bridge to 11 and 12 isn't far but security will stop you at the foot of the bridge and check your tickets. They only let 11 and 12 walk over the bridge. They might let 1 go too since I don't think there is any food or beverage that close to 1.
I hope you guys enjoy yourselves. See you there!

Anyone done the a Podium or Elite Restaurant seating? How good are these? Going next year, I think the package we're looking at is about 2,500 per?

Gotta have the right tools for the work we do. I'm not specifically a motorsports photographer but have shot enough sports in my life to know what to bring if possible. Weight is always in play. Planning on shooting the challenge cars and F1.

Will have an 800 5.6, 400 4.0, 1.4 extender and 24-70,70-200. Bringing my 22mp 1DX mk II and a 50mp 5ds for a shot to be blown up in the new garage. Hoping for Vettel or Kimi with curbing... :D

    50mp?

    Didn't know that exists. Incredible.

I'll have my D610 plus Bigma at Austin. Not quite the same but good enough for my regular news magazine coverage.

Post some here when you're back pls

I do liken it to collecting trophy's

Was there two years ago without the cameras. Should be even more entertaining this go-round.

Shooting as a regular viewer is a challenge. Once you got press credentials to me it's like shooting fish in a barrel

Arrived in Montreal to heavy rain. It is predicted to rain for Practice on Friday and be cloudy to rainy for race weekend.

    Hi All,
I feel so lucky to go to the Race this weekend and this is my first F1 race ever! I'm sitting in section 11 also. Is it possible to rush the podium celebration from there? I don't have any special paddock access.

    Thank you all!
    Spencer

    Spencer,
If you want to rush the podium after the race I suggest during the last 5 laps head down
To the access gate on the ride of grandstand 11. It's at the end of pit lane.
Once the race is over they open up the gate and people rush to the podium to get a good view

How did you pull that off? :D

Montreal is a good venue, I loved it when I went (2004 or 2005, can't remember). Jacques Villeneuve was still driving and since I look a little like him (or I did then), many people called me "Jacques!" when I was walking around.

Got to meet Ralf Schumacher too, great weekend!
