Do we have any recent examples of Haggertys dream ($30 K ) price bump for a MANUAL transmission ? Seems to me there is basically no difference in value/price for either transmission at this point.
It is safe to say that in some cars it is worth $10k on average from my experience in shopping. Spiders, not so much. Berlinettas and GTS, yes. But the F1 GTS is rarest 355 and that could be seeing a premium. $30k is not realistic. BUT high quality, sorted, all issues addressed 355 Gated tend to be $25-30k more than most average cars with needs. The above is also, vague, confusing and opinionated. I stand by it though as I look and watch daily. Get the Ferrari Market letter and know what I could have bought with my money. I could not buy cheap and get what I have without spending $25k in service, repairs and upgrades. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As stated before I stand behind my thought that a 6-speed is more valuable than an F1. Now, $30k hahahahaah NO! Back 20 years ago, the F1 was the thing to have. It was the latest Ferrari and you had 2 types of buyers; enthusiasts and the showoff's. Enthusiasts are ones that have thought throughout their lives about own a Ferrari (or two). They are generally members of the club and go to events. They also have more than 1 or 2 posts on sites like this. Maybe they also go to the factory, or F1 races, etc. They wear their Ferrari stuff around their friends but not necessarily at the bars or clubs etc. Showoff's - they just want to say they own a ferrari. They eventually lose interest after costs, and other cars being faster or whatever. These are the ones that put their ferrari key on the bar when picking up women folk. (or men folk) *there are more shades of grey between the two but the point is the same. F355/355 are now really more of an enthusiasts car. An F430 from a maintenance and performance perspective is a better car. Why buy a 355 for 85-90k when you can buy an F430 for 95-110k? The reason? Because you are a 355 enthusiast. My daily driver is WAY faster than my F355 and is definitely fun to drive... but the Ferrari is a whole experience, the sound, the looks, etc. So why did I not buy an F1? -My daily is a DCT so I already have flappy's and is a better performing car so I don't need quick shifts in my Ferrari. -There is a "bit" more maintenance for the F1 and I wanted to have less maintenance -I have always wanted the gated shifter and the ferrari sound. -I believed (as some others do) that a 6-speed, everything being equal, was more valuable, based on the aforementioned. This perception is what drives the price. Now, here is the reality. If I would have found a <30k mile Black and tan GTS F1 that was a 1998 or early 1999 with shields in the 70's-80's and was sorted.... I would have pulled the trigger. The problem is there really isn't much of an inventory to tell real data from "theory". In the end though, even tulip bulbs have been hyper-valuable. It is all in the supply and demand with a bit of hype. Two cars being exactly equal and no hype, I'd still pick the 6speed (gated!) but given a quality F1 with no comparable 6speed, I would have gone that way knowing I'd be having a few thousand more in maintenance over my ownership. (waiting for Dave Rocks to respond)
Just quote 1 of my many posts on this subject - not worth tying all over again Oh - and my agreed value policy for my 15K mile, 98 F1 (Nero / Beige) GTS is $130K and for good reason. As much as Hagerty is a total joke, I have them to thank because my F1 is a 6-speed and qualified for the $30K premium
I knew Dave was stalking me! I agree that 30k add is a joke. I also agree that the 1998 F1 GTS black/tan is at least for me, THE 355 to get.
Got a hot one for you. 21200 miles, $105,000. (What is that they used to say? Won't last long at that price. LOL ) Used 1995 Ferrari F355 Spider - Gated Manual - Serviced - Rare Color for Sale in Edgewater Park NJ 08010 Jonathan Motorcars.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
The color is exquisite and it appears to have been COMPLETELY rebuilt (which seems a little odd) at a whopping $31k. Also is this true: "Less that 1,500 F355's were produced and brought into the US in 1995. Out of these F355's only 17 total were produced in this color, and only 6 of those were Spiders." Meanwhile, you get the oil slick and seat ejection buttons as a bonus in the ashtray
Could be the lighting, but the passenger door looks to be a different color then the rear quarter panel Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Other than the unusual color and the $30k service it doesn't appear to be anything but an average 20k miles spider. A $60k car at best.
If I were selling I'd take $60k as it sits, yep. And if I were selling it, it might just even sell at that price. Did you look at the pictures closely? Did you read the story? "Compared to 3 other "similar" vehicles in the areas (average $96k) this is a good price." What 3 other vehicles??? 89% fewer miles that other cars in the area (claim similar vehicles average 43k miles. Sure!!!). BS. Oh wait. It's actually only $95k.
Hi Guys! Looking for info on a former US, rebuilt yellow manual F355 spider, currently located in Canada. I will post the VIN in the hope that someone will recognize the car and get back to me: ZFFXR48A0W0110544 .
Pretty optimistic since it is advertised elsewhere for $55k. 1995 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta - Used Ferrari 355 for sale in Indianapolis, Indiana | autoquid.com
I think i might know the car if it was from Vancouver.Does it have updated brakes with black interior?
That's all it is, that website is not selling the car. It says the sellers name is orangeshirt, click the eBay link and surprise the eBay sellers name is Orangeshirt. They are regurgitating ebay auctions by creating pages based on the auctions, I guess they are helping sell the car for free?
Guess I should buy these then 1995 Ferrari F355 Spider Convertible, Clean Carfax, $32k In Receipts - Used Ferrari F355 Spider for sale in Saint Louis, Missouri | autoquid.com 1995 Ferrari 355 Slider 6 Speed Manual - Used Ferrari 355 for sale in Closter, New Jersey | autoquid.com 1995 F355 Berlinetta - Used Ferrari 355 for sale in Indianapolis, Indiana | autoquid.com
Those site are all autonomous, they pick up ads from all over the web and reproduce ads for ad revenue. Virtually every car is on 2040-cars. The info is likely from an only ebay ad
Ok. I see. I was in error. (Save it Dave. ) It references a previous eBay add where the starting bid was $55k and it got ZERO bits. So, let's see. No one interested at $55k. So far, bid up from $45k to $48k (3 days ago) and not moving. And a buy it NOT at $72k. Good luck with the sale. Wonder what the reserve is. Bet it doesn't reach it. As you said Dave, this one is pretty rough and the mileage doesn't help.
