To all you smart F12 guys.

What, if any, are the differences between a 2015 and 2017 model years? Have both available and trying to decide.

Many thanks in advance for any insight.

I am not sure exactly when introduced but the 2017 will have the latest infotainment system as per the 488. It is vastly improved over the launch 2013 system, in fact looks like almost completely new with different fonts, maps, brighter crisper TFT screens.

2015's may have the latest version but i wouldn't know for sure so worth checking.

I believe the infotainment changes happened on MY16 forward for the US.

The other change is in the trunk there is a plaque that should show the build specs. All new Ferraris get this. So the changes are relatively minor- though I do think the newer infotainment is nicer than the prior generation- as it should be.

Can anyone confirm this? I've been eye-balling some 2015s for the past 3 weeks but this will break my focus redirect if true...

I was looking at 2015's and did not find one that had the updated infotainment. I managed to get a late allocation on a new 17 so took that instead. As well as the base new infotainment which looks a lot nicer than the original, there is the option of CarPlay, which i ordered, it basically makes the in built Bluetooth and navigation redundant and provides a better experience, although you do have to plug your phone into a hard wired cable to use the functionality.

That would be HELE in Ferrari speak. Im 99% sure it is still an option. I can tell you on my 2017, the car came with an AGM battery, which is what they would use for the HELE system. I did not order HELE out of a philosophical objection to these systems, especially on a sports car. However, I've read that HELE also means you get some higher quality parts in the electrical system (alternator?)....

Interesting you have an AGM battery. Is it FIAMM? I must check mine too. Mine is a 2017 UK car and HELE is standard spec here but not activated on my car.

Don't know whether I'm just lucky or because my car is new but I have not used the tender and even after almost two weeks of no use, no battery drain issues.

I have a '16 and had a '15 - the gauges were updated for '16. There aren't any other changes obvious to me.

    Best, Paul
