Any ideas of how I can remove a stuck oil filter of my 355, I have the Ferrari cap wrench but it got worn inside by trying to hard.

Use a strap wrench like this or punch a hole in the filter with a large screw driver and then grab the handle and the tip and turn counter clockwise. That works 100% of the time. Don't be scared... Image Unavailable, Please Login
The o-ring really compresses and with heat cycles, I think it gets stuck. I will say when it took the two of us, the moment we "lifted up" on our wrenches and relieved a smudge of downforce, it came off. I want to devise a lifting wrench that put upward pressure when removing. Not sure how, but the thought makes me feel better. My last resort was the screw driver through it, was so deformed, I thought it may tear apart. Seen that before [emoji50] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had a oil filter on so hard (non- Ferrari), strap wrenches just collapsed the can. Even the screwdriver method didn't work. Eventually, I cut off the can completely with sidecutters and this gave me something to attack with a screwdriver and hammer (in a chiselling fashion). The filter base has a perforated surface which offers something good to hit. On the new filter, don't forget to smear the seal with oil before fitting, and torque to the correct amount.
Do yourself a big favor and go get a bottle of goo gone. Yes....goo gone. Walmart has it. Put a pin hole in the foil seal when you remove the top of the goo gone bottle. Throw a towel or two around the oil filter housing and then squirt goo gone around the base of the oil filter where it sets into the recess of the oil filter manifold. The point being to get goo gone down towards the filter to manifold rubber seal. Give it a minute or two. Take your favorite filter removal tool and go after it again. Filter pliers are the best once you round off the top. It will come off providing it is not a thread issue. If you bust the housing in the process....look me up as I bought one when I went through this as a just in case.
Exactly, I just went through that yesterday. I used a filter wrench with the channel locks together. I took about 15 minutes of struggling, but it eventually gave in. I suspect the previous dealer forgot to put oil on the gasket as it was squeaking upon removal.
I finally got the oil filter out, it took 3 hours, removed some of the air intake parts so I'll have more room, poked a hole through the sides of the filter using a screw driver and started pushing the filter counter clock, didn't work at first than I poked more holes and kept pushing the screw driver until the filter came loose. This part of the oil change should have been much easier. Ouch. That looks like it was quite the mess. I have one of these for just such emergencies: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PAQVW74/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It also works well in removing F1 accumulator bulbs Image Unavailable, Please Login
