But, do you have access to actual selling the prices...? To get a reliable model you need lots of data... and actual selling prices...

Ah that is the rub, right? There is a secret way to find out I bet! The good news is that F430 are great buy compared to new and lots of fun. I did have a top local San Diego mechanic tell me that Lamborghini Gallardo were better engineered and more reliable than Ferrari, why would he say that?

Maybe because Audi owns Lamborghini and a lot of Audi stuff is in them - nav, some buttons, etc. Basically, tech/know-how transfer from mass volume manufacturer to small volume manufacturer may equate to increased robustness...

You may be able to get some whole sale auction actual sale results, but then your numbers would be whole sale, not private party, not retail...

That makes sense but does not Fiat GM own Ferrari? So Ferrari parts should be OEM from Fiat except few things right?

Ownership does not necessarily equates to reusing parts and components out of the same parts bin. Ferrari (ticker RACE) trades independently from Fiat/Chrysler (ticker FCAU) on NYSE.

....by an indy that sells both. I too am in the market for a Gallardo or 430. One of the questions I was asked was how much I was going to drive it. If I was going to put a lot of miles on it, the Gallardo was recommended for the reasons above - more reliable and cheaper to repair/maintain.

Yes that is correct, Ferrari has independent stock (RACE) from Fiat (FCAU) stock.

Both F430 and Gallardo are great cars. If I was to get a Lambo, would have to get the LP560 (2009 and later) model as the base Gallardo is not that great compared to F430. The much improved faster LP560 is a beast.

Guess you were just confused when you said Fiat GM owns Ferrari then... Fiat and GM are different companies. So, which car are you focused on getting?

    Hi

I am looking at one with Daytona seats and one with sports seats. Do you guys think the one with sporty seats adds value to the other? I think the regular seats look better but not sure of its added value.

    Regards

Agree with you 3point8. Also dealer is telling me the car has lots of carbon fibers--wing mirrors, center console, paddle shifter, kick plate, challenge bumper and scud rims. Any idea how much they worth? The figures given to me were definitely over exaggerated. An 08 coupe in silverstone color.

Nothing. Carbon increases a car's desirability, not it's value.

I would have to disagree with that. Desirability goes up ~ value will follow every time.

A high option car will trade 5 to 10 percent higher than no options.

^agreed. If a car has desirable options, buyers would likely pay a little more for them.

I would have to agree with this. Desirability and price goes hand it hand.
But with that being said, it also depends on the carbon option. Is if factory?...aftermarket? 1x1 or 2x2 weave?....etc. I have the factory carbon lower and upper zone with a carbon steering wheel.
I have seen some aftermarket carbon interior installed that looked horrible.

Would recommend driving both as well. If you are looking for a nimble light on its toes car the Ferrari is hands down the better driving car over the lambo. Gallardo is almost trick luck in comparison. Good luck in your decision can't go wrong either way.

Opinions, please, on price vs market, considering it is a Spider in a less frequently seen color.

No info on whether manuals/books, both keys, code card, service history, tool kit, cover with bag are included, or whether sticky interior pieces have been addressed or exist. If the price is anywhere near reasonable for this specific car I will call concerning these items. As is, the dealership does not answer email/message queries.

    Thanks,
