599GTB Until I get to try an F12. But to be practical I'm shopping for a California (kids). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A Maserati I don't want to drive it everyday as I like to savour the moment. That said I don't own a Maserati but would probably feel the same way about that
Unrealistic would be 250 GTO- why not? Realistically, I think an FF really makes a daily driver Ferrari for a family guy a realistic endeavor. Room for kids, space for a suitcase or hockey bag, and all the fun of a powerful V12 Ferrari
Why not if you can afford it to buy it? Stephen Mitchell, an occasional poster here used to drive his around Los Angeles as a daily driver when he was 19. See his video: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md_jcC6OnIU[/ame] I was at a annual pig roast of a well known collector a few years ago. His invitations used to say, "Bring old car and wife or girlfriend. (Car must be older than wife or girlfriend.)" Parked right in the driveway next to a city street was a 250 GTO that belonged to another well known collector. Before you say they were not worth then what they are now note the market value at the time was probably at least $10 million. And I am sure that same collector still drives and enjoys his car today, no matter the value. I miss the Bay Area car scene!
For my family, sports and recreational influenced lifestyle, a canna di fuccile 2017 FF with all season tires would be the ideal DD, as I could fit stuff in back, go over most terrain and enjoy the whole experience.
If I were going daily, I'd go 360 all the way. Reliable and fun. If I were doing it on a budget, Mondial coupe
HMM every day Ferrari.... 1. 599 in Pozzi blue 2. 456 in black or blue 3. Cali T Pozzi blue 4. 412 in Silver
Unless it's pouring, I drive my yellow 456 GT (six-speed) almost every day from spring to fall. Great way to start and finish the day, and my kids love it.
If money were no object it would be a silver F12. 12 cylinder cars tend to not attack to much attention as the 2 seat sports cars. Silver will make it more invisible. Awesome power, handling, exhaust note -- fantastic interior and comfort -- and not a turbo or hybrid drive in sight.
I split the DD duties with my 328 GTB and a C7 Stingray. When I need the trunk space it's the C7 that comes out of the garage.
I have 64,000 miles on my 91 Testarossa as a daily driver concours winner. My 72, 000 mile Diablo VT Roadster daily driver has now been replaced by a Murcielago Roadster...also a multiple concours winner daily driver. Shamile Freeze. . . Miami Vice! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
While we're playing "what if" ... Take the original '80s Alfa Type 116 Alfetta GTV-6 complete with double wishbone/torsion bar front/ diDion/watts rear recreate in galvanized steel/aluminum/CF (in place of russian steel) replace the 2.5L V6 with the 2.9L twin turbo V6 from the Giulia Qf replace the 5 spd transaxle (and sloppy shifter) with a Getrag 7DCT And you'd have either a recreation of the GTV6 or a 3 door coupe version of the California T (minus two cylinders). And I'd guess FCA would never build such a thing. Too much a bridge between Alfa and Ferrari. (But then, rumor has it that the California was first intended for the Maserati marque.)
We need 3 seats and for daily use it sure saves a lot of "you have to get out of your seat for him/her to get out of the car" if you have more than 2 doors. Anyone know of another that would fit the description? Cheers Paul Image Unavailable, Please Login
I drive it a few days a week, and my biggest concern is the hassle of the top. So I basically use it like a barchetta and leave the top down everywhere. If I had a hard top convertible, or even a 360/430 with an auto top, I really would use it every day.
For me - a 430 or 458. I thought the 430 fit me like a glove and was modern enough to be a DD. Of course a 612 would be fine too
Unless your kids are the size of a garden gnome or have unfortunate amputations, the California is not really that useful as a 2+2. I guess if you put the passenger seat all the way forward you might get two in. But not behind you. The Maserati Grantourismo cab gives a few more inches.
Already test drove and all 4 of us fit They just get no more food from this day on. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
