Not a myth. In fact they have sent cease and desist letters out to have wraps they find offensive take off. And the letter worked. Wrap was removed and the car was sold!

I remember that! Didn't Deadmau5 sell of that 458 and donate the $$ to charity? Someone @ Ferrari is a Rabah Joo-ha! ;)

Olivier, despite of having learned French for five years because it was compulsory in my high school times, I never heard the word Rabat-Joie and it definitely sounds good LOL.
Going back to these high school times in the 60's when my mother forced me to attend the Alliance Française so I could improve my poor french, I remember that every time we had our teenager garage parties with blinds in the window for total darkness and slow music from Adamo to be able to squeeze the girls very tight, sometimes there was a grand-mother, a father, a mother or a ugly girl, that played the role of party pooper (Rabat-Joie).

PS- When we discussed on your thread the subject of the 812 bottom and you mentioned that in this particular we get used with time to what is available, let me tell you that in the darkness of these garage parties we always thanked god for whatever he provided us and we weren't very selective at all.

Ahahahahha Mario remind me some of the garage parties I did in the early 90's

Rabat-Joie is an idiomatic expression you rarely learn in lessons

This thread is proof that God gave all the money to the wrong people.

I'm glad I'm not alone on that one. Those are my feelings exactly, but there were so many people, so eager to pay for those freak cars, that I thought I was the lunatic.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

They might have sent whatever letters but they don't have the right to deny servicing because of an ugly wrap, which is what I was stating. At least not in my country.

FWIW your link is about custom badges mostly, which I understand at some point might be considered damage to the brand. Not quite the same thing my post was about.

Since the longer this thread gets, the more probability that perfectly nice F12's end up being posted as ugly, I will exert my right to give an opinion and post what I see as an ugly spec F12.

Rosso corsa most boring colour of the range, closely followed by black. Black holes with clashing "nineties" yellow calipers, this is what I call a circus spec.

Coming from a guy who's dream ferrari is specced like a Bentley...

A track monster with quilted leather !!!

No seriously... the car you posted cannot be considered as ugly. Maybe it's the opposite of your tastes... but not ugly...

But well what does ugly mean...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Therefore, ugliness must be too. I didn't think the posted red/black tire/yellow caliper was ugly, but everyone is entitled to their opinion...T

I'm with Tom on this one. A more sports car config than proper GT, I'll give you that. But by no means ugly. Certainly not when compared to 99.9% of the cars posted on this thread so far! :D

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

Justin, fortunately or unfortunately everything, the good and the bad, is now available on the internet but the information many times doesn't pop-up straight away when you use the search engine and one has to dig a little bit deeper.

Hopefully most of the posted cars are wraps and the second owner of the vehicle will come to their senses and remove the ugly wrap. Usually fads are short and the pendulum of taste returns at some point.

One would have to wonder about the "look at me folks" and think the F12 would be enough to quench their egos? IMO

I agree with you and the great advantage a wrapped car has, despite of how ugly it might look, is that it can suffer a complete metamorphose at any time and then the beast can become a beauty or not.
