My posts are clearly both informative & on-topic, that's always the goal.

That's one of the best automotive images I've seen in a while!

    Thanks for sharing it.

    Thanks, Joe!

I drove the Downdraft and swapped cars half way through the drive and while the 930 is a terrific car, the Downdraft is simply spectacular!

I can tell you that it was difficult to drive the turbo without staring at the rearview mirror. There is nothing like seeing a Countach in motion!

Yes, i took this picture. But i have no problem with it floating around on the web, its just a bad Instagramed picture, the original is much better ;)

About names and chassis numbers, i tend to be more quiet regarding that subject nowdays. I know many collectors are not directly happy about having their names and chassis numbers of their cars all over the web.

Great pic, credit to you! I prefer Flickr simply because its a photographer's site and the original quality of the images can be maintained there - see link below.

As regards names & chassis numbers, I completely understand anyone wanting to keep both private, that is their prerogative to try to do so.

On the other hand, I also feel that any motor vehicle was built for use on public roads and as such is subject to public registration, knowledge or sighting, so, unless the car is never used or serviced and kept permanently sealed in an underground bunker where cellphones are strictly forbidden, they will become public knowledge one way or another. Its just a fact of life these days that your car will likely be in multiple places on the web, and attempting to prevent that is somewhat futile. I also think it is better for the values of the cars when the cars are openly shared, even those of private collections, as the advent of social media and the many registries formed over the past decade & more has shown us.

I'm not a huge poster fan but this 1986 QV poster by Arti Grafiche Ricordi S.p.A. Milano and printed in Italy is one of the better ones produced.

Are you sure it's a 88.5? Since a friend used to own FLA12875 which had the 88.5 sills, this wing and the same Color Combo.
I doubt that there is still a QV from Switzerland I don't know... only missing the vin of the Acapulco 1985 one.

TBH I don't know, I'm going by the side sills, if we had a rear shot of the car the engine cover would tell us if its an 85 or 88.

In a higher-resolution version of this image, the card in front of this 1986 Downdraft in Tokyo/Japan *appears* to read GLA12913, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Famed American advertising & documentary photographer Elliott Erwitt admiring an Argento/Rosso Downdraft (posted earlier in this thread a few times) also in Tokyo/Japan.

Another unknown (to me that is) Rosso/Bianco Downdraft in Japan in showroom with Lexus LFA and Ruf Porsche 930.

There are certainly one or two that appear to remain un-modified there, but that is the exception to the rule.

That Blue car's license plate reads 778 . Top right possibly reads " Al Bahrain". Bottom word resembled "Speciality". It is a little pixelated, so that is the best I can do as dot placement and dashes can change a word drastically.

Wow I just realised after alll these years of speaking and now barely reading Arabic, that although you read Arabic right to left, you read numbers left to right :/
