I hope there will be an official review of lulu's telemetry. The replay looked like he did give VET a brake test and if that's proven he should get penalty points, too. What he did in no way excuses VET's actions, but HAM should be penalized too if he made an infraction.

Hamilton was constantly whining about the lack of pace of the safety car, that lack of pace he used and abused by performing a brake test on Seb while not accelarating but decelerating out of a corner.

And even when Vettel got a 10 sec. penalty he kept whining to Charlie Whiting that 10 sec. wasn't enough.

    Discusting character.

He is a despicable human being. He's very good at manipulating others and give him the benefit of doubt or even absolve him of any wrong doing, and has done so plenty of times in his career. Remember Fuji 2007? Elton was leading in a rain soaked race, funnily enough also behind the SC and Vettel was involved...Vettel was still driving a lowly Toro Rosso and was in 3rd behind Webber. Elton, caught of camera, brake tested Webber hard, and due to the spray, Vettel couldn't see and crashed into Webber. Not his fault at all...once again it happened in a braking zone. Vettel initially got a heavy penalty but it was only a few days later that a fan uploaded a video to youtube that the FIA found out it was Elton's fault, but decided not to punish him (I think also because of the 2 hour limit for any penalties after the race).

Melbourne 2009 lie gate...blatantly lying in order to not lose places!

Crashing into anything that moved in 2011 I believe, then claiming the stewards are racist.

2007 when he played sweet and innocent Louise being bullied by the evil Spaniard, nothing is further from the truth! He was playing with fire and won...Teflon prick!

    And so on.

The pillowbiter will get what's coming to him, I fear after his F1 career however.

Vettel was stupid for overreacting, but I understand his frustration. Brake testing in an acceleration zone, it's just not on.

Surely a penalty for Hamilton is still forthcoming? Or are they setting a "precedent" since that's all that anyone seems to car about.

Wow, I think you guys need to chill a bit.
I don't particularly like Hamilton but this is getting like school playground stuff.

I think you will find that Lewis simply did not accelerate out of the corner rather than he actually brake tested Seb.

As I have pointed out already, part of rule 39.13 of the sporting regulations does state:

"In order to avoid the likelihood of accidents before the safety car returns to the pits, from the point at which the lights on the car are turned out drivers must proceed at a pace which involves no erratic acceleration or braking nor any other manoeuvre which is likely to endanger other drivers or impede the restart."

Hamilton not accelerating out of turn 15 as would be expected based on his previous re-start, could possibly be construed as a manoeuvre "likely to endanger other drivers or impede the restart", but it seems the stewards are not interested in investigating that aspect of what happened.

I think the stewards perhaps unwittingly, and perhaps not unwittingly, add to the frustration of drivers when they fail to correctly penalize the instigators in race incidents. This can lead to further incidents caused by long standing frustration boiling up during a race.

Questionable decisions by stewards should also be held to account, as much as mistakes by other people involved in F1 races.

If Ham keeps complaining how "slow" the (Mercedes) Pace car is,
it might be a chance for another manufacturer to jump in.

Pity the P1 is no longer in production.
A McLaren P1 pace car might be the only way we'd see a McLaren leading a race. :D

I'm a Ferrari home-boy for sure. However, this penalty is appropriate if not downright light.

Not according Sky as they said comments from the pits indicated Lewis essentially slowed from 80-something to 40-something kph as he came out of the corner.

The telemetry will eliminate any speculation. Why not just review it? Then if any official action is warranted it should be taken.

Somebody needs to check Charlie's bank account. Pretty sure there is a big fat deposit there from Toto.

Did Seb deserve a penalty, yes he did but what about Hamilton who has been pulling "brake checks" his whole career? What about Bottas taking out Kim's?

Charlie Whiting has shown time and time again over the last few seasons what a biased **** he is.

Well at least Vettel showed some good speed in closing in on Bottas and keeping Ham behind. All this with a 5 race ok engine, that didn't blow up or use oil fumes for extra power, if all the speculation is to be believed.

And that one cannot be argued!

Whatever happened with Hamilton through turn 15 causing Vettel to run into the back of him, Vettel should not have driven in a manner that resulted in him either deliberately or accidentally hitting Hamilton's car.

Like it or not, the penalty applied to Vettel is appropriate (in fact he may have got off lightly), and the 3 points on his licence are justified - It was a stupid thing to do at the end of the day.

If Vettel believed Hamilton brake tested him in any way, then he should have radioed the team for a formal complaint (that's easy to say though when you're sat on your sofa watching, and not sat in the car pumped up on adrenalin though!).

TBH, I'm struggling to believe that the stewards have not looked at the telemetry from Hamilton's car to see if he brake tested Vettel or drove in a manner outside the rules.

Despite some assertions on here, I don't believe that the stewards are biased in favour of Hamilton.
