He denies because he does not think he did anything wrong...It is the same with Schumacher, Senna, Hamilton and all the others...you see it every week: admitting mistakes is not part of their thinking. Those who are bashing Vettel now should think about what Hamilton would do...do you actually believe it would be any different???
Nice try...think about it...who drove his team mate off the track several times in the last 3 seasons? I give you a hint: this team mate is not driving anymore this year
The opposite opinion is also valid. Namely, why was vettel making the assumption that Ham would accelerate? Ham had no obligation to do that at all. In hindsight, I would expect Ham to treat that corner differently if this situation happened again. What would he achieve by deliberately forcing another driver to drive into the back of him like that? Precisely nothing and more likely a high risk of causing plenty of damage to his own car. It makes no sense.
The reverse was also true. Rosberg returned that favour several times. Trying to make out this is a one way street isn't credible.
As said before: Hamiltons intention by braking was most likely making the ones behind him braking even harder because it comes unexpected and once they were almost standing he would have accelerated to get an advantage on the restart. Do you really think there was no intention behind that???
But did either of them get a penalty for that? I do not remember one and yet people here complain that only Vettel is treated different and others much harder...Don´t try to turn this around, it was not me saying that Vettel was penalized harder than all the others would have.
So he says they 'touched lightly' without offering any explanation as to how that actually happened,as if by magic. You can see Lewis did no steering input at all.The Ferrari drove into the Merc all by its own?Wow amazing!
+1 The FIA just needs to enforce something like pitlane speeds so everyone does the same speed instead of this trick crap they call "strategy."
You seem to be on a mission...you try to convince people of something none of us is denying...Vettel lost control in "red mist"...Nobody ever questioned that but the question remains what actually led to that and there is were we differ...
Even if you are correct, I don't think that an incident cause has to be "deliberate" to incur a penalty. "Inadvertent" is pretty close to "careless", and certainly carelessness has caused many a penalty.
That's a pretty fair summary. Quite honestly, I was talking to my wife about a 10-second stop-go penalty or outright disqualification from the moment he turning in on Hamilton. I was relieved when the punishment was only the former. He should have anticipated Hamilton bunching people up at the corner and should have shown more composure following the initial contact. Deliberately bumping a competitor's car in a fit of rage is pretty bad - folks would be calling for Hamilton's head if the shoe was on the other foot. It was fortunate for Vettel and Ferrari that the Mercedes crew forgot to reassemble Hamilton's car correctly after the red flag and that he didn't romp on to win and close the championship gap. All the best, Andrew.
He did not lose control,he steered his car into the side of the Merc..or do you mean he lost control of his senses?Vettel is denying everything..totally innocent. The stewards have decided what led up to that,Lewis did not break any regulations and Vettel hit the back of the Merc.Vettel received a penalty and Lewis did not. So please go ahead and disagree with the stewards until the cows come home. What actually happened may not be what you imagine happened.
Road rage: Hamilton should have received a 10 second penalty for unsafe driving. Vettel should have been black flagged for ramming (it wasn't a touch) Hamilton - doesn't matter that he is former WDC or with Ferrari.
Yeah right...the stewards are always right...as long as it suits you, if it does not suit you anymore they are **** Please go ahead with you Vettel-bashing but never ever call anyone in this forum biased anymore if he does not agree with you...
I do not think i am 'bashing' Vettel ,it is pretty obvious who is doing the bashing. Have i called anyone biased, hmm i don't think so ,will have to check that. The stewards have a tough job,i can have my opinion on the stewards decisions as you also can ,i do not have a problem with that.Btw i have not said that the stewards are always right, likewise i cannot recall saying that they are ****. I am a Team Scuderia fan believe it or not
Yes, you are right...it is pretty obvious: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/145448403-post635.html http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/145449154-post675.html
Hamilton controlling the pace at the front which he's allowed to do. Vettel lost his temper but colliding sets a very bad precedent. Not much else to say on this one. Hope Ferrari can catch merc on the development race (but seems unlikely).
LOL I stand by the first one,he deserved it i think for that stunt. The second one was posted on LH Facebook...not by me,i thought it was funny ..apologies if it offended you or anyone else.
Hamilton and Lauda are way overplaying this thing to get into the heads of Vettel and the stewards. Lauda needs to shut up.
Vettel hasn't got a leg to stand on. His car went into the back of Hamiltons.......intentional or not..........neither can be proved, although the FIA have confirmed that H. did not brake. With the pace car leaving the track, It was Hamiltons right to control the re-start......Vettel would have done the same. Even so, Vettel's action following his shunt was a disgrace to himself, to Ferrari and Formula 1. Worse still, he hasn't even got the b...s to apologise to Hamilton, Mercedes, or even the rest of the world who were watching it all unfold. If he doesn't get penalised further by the FIA, then he's a very lucky boy indeed. There may be some very hard racing yet to come,..... if the gloves come off !
