It's getting better and better. CdF is definitely the color of choice for the 812
I was trying to go without the stripes and dash accents. But I see that is what the design team intends. I actually think the interior has enough design elements going on without the red accent details and seat stripes. I'll see the car again at my dealer and re-consider. But the current trend is 'busy bespoke' Saw an interesting 458 special Aperta in triple yellow with red white and blue racing stripe and every carbon option available inside and out--but with blue color carbon.
I have started to spec my 812 SF and can not make my head around whick looks better carbon fibre diffuser vs regular painted one. Some have pointed out that a carbon diffuser on certain colors (i.e red, yellow, white) would make the car look like a ford.
I really like the colored diffuser of this car, it is a really good touch....I like to have black parts only around the exhaust and not all over the back part of the car...it looks like too flat to me in the back with a carbon fiber diffuser, I like to see the shape of the fins with the colored one.
I love 'em too. They're going on my spec for sure. Can't decide what colour though - my head has gone around the houses twice. Anni red, Nero Daytona, Grigio Alloy, Matt Grigio Silverstone, Blu Corsa, Giallo tri-strato, back to red.... I'm all over the place! First world problems and all that.
Don't think it merits the cost on a standard car so I will reluctantly probably be drawn back into DC's world..........
Have to agree with Jelial. The "turbine" wheels are fantastic. I find them evocative of the old wingnuts that sat in the middle of the wheels on the classic cars. Or knock off wheel nuts as they were also know. The shape of the forged spokes on the 812s "turbine" wheels channel the spirit of the old wheel nuts in my view. Here is a picture of the wheels nuts on a Daytona. Something about the angle of each wing is reflected in the new forged wheels on the 812. I quite like the launch wheels but prefer timeless looks and simplicity - do wonder if they will date fast.
Great vid thanks Two more pics of grey awesomness https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e35/19429061_170033803535889_2352668387647160320_n.jpg https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e35/19424831_1806265126355950_8514260090037993472_n.jpg
Thanks for posting but it seems the soundtrack has been added and bears no relation to what the car is doing, which makes it seem seem very strange and out of sync.
I am beginning to think the darker colours are an issue on the rear as it looses definition and detail and thus becomes all a big muddle with little differentiation between upper and lower parts, hence it just looks big, tall and untidy. I still feel GT is the colour for this car and let's face it DC, that is still GRIGIO Titanio. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tim, on the picture of the 812 rear you posted the grigio color hides quite well and effectively the less pretty lines of this "arriére" but, on the other hand, it makes it look very bulky giving the impression that the lights and the exhaust pipes are design accidents. I completely agree with all the adjectives you've listed and if I had to choose one it would be "untidy".
I agree on your view on the dark paint, the picture shows it clearly If you like GT, I suggest GF. It's not too far , more rare, more GT just look at Deltona's F12 The world grey council stated (I'm presient and only member) "Grigio titanio suffers an identity problem. It doesn't know if it's grey or silver, so he tries to be a little of both" That's why the Council didn't give its seal of approval
I had a 458 in Ferro before it got trendy, it was classy but dull unless very sunny. The Atelier said that the new Ferro is the same but it looks sparklier and lighter to me. Thoughts or know how welcome please.
