They should both come along on the GG.

We could sort them both out. Make one or both of them share a room with Moretti. :)

A few too many Hamilton haters here colouring opinions of the facts :) I'm a Ferrari man however Vettel did himself no favours last night.

Hamilton didn't brake check Vettel, just because one applies a brake does not mean one brake checks, these guys left foot brake & use throttle together & separately, I regularly on a warm up lap or under safety car apply both at once to keep tyres & brakes up to temp. Honestly do you really think that the FIA stewards after reviewing data & everything available to them can't tell the facts, that's why there was a 10 sec penalty for 2 events of running into Hamilton, just because you saw a red light on the telemetry does not prove a brake check :)

In all racing the driver directly behind the safety car controls the restart, once the safety car has indicated they are pulling in, the lead driver can slow the pack behind as much as they wish, its the best way to get the jump on restart. IMO Vettel lost out on the previous restart & was worried to loose out again, he was accelerating before Hamilton took off & was caught out, sadly there is no way it's not his fault, his responsibility to stay far enough away...end of story.

Honestly John do you really think Hamilton would intentionally take the risk of brake checking Vettel behind so Vettel's front wing would be damaged, whilst taking the risk his own car might be damaged even worse

Peter, I'm no Vettel fan and I thought his road rage was typical of him, we all remember how he treated Webber, but this erratic behaviour behind the safety car has caused accidents before and it's against the rules .

And yes, Vettel was caught out in the previous restart so he was sticking very close to Hamilton and Hamilton took advantage of it to put a scare up Vettel and the collision happened.

I see too much "Senna" in Hamilton, and not the good traits

The cars are so safe they can pull these stunts and get away with it, in the old days the drivers died

I'm not a Hamilton hater, but not a fan either. He's a clever and cunning guy, always looking for an angle. e.g. in the later laps asking his crew to slow Bottas in order to back Vettel up to him.

IMO he knew Vettel would be looking for a jump on the restart and knew that narrow corner would be an easy spot to catch him out, so he slowed markedly on the exit and got him. Yes, the following car is always at fault and nothing justifies what Vettel did next but think about it, Hamilton at that stage was expecting to win and he would have relegated Vettel to 5th - that's a big points differential.

    Ferrari will appeal the penalties...

It was a ridiculous reaction from Vettel, but not as ridiculous as Hamilton's claim to having the moral high ground, considering his own actions in the past. Sadly, the press is lapping it up.

Vettel must be kicking himself now. He would have won that race and Hamilton would had looked like a prick if Vettel hadn't had the road rage.

Agreed that he new what he was doing, but would not have been intending for an accident to occur, which could damage his car as badly or worse than Vettel's.

I have on occasion been leading a restart after safety car & you back them up as much as possible, the cars further back are also unaware when you are going to jump to restart & often still braking while you have already taken off, its an acceptable tactic used to unsettle or keep the cars behind guessing. If you are leading a race & maybe had a good gap prior to the safety car & then suffer the risk of being over taken on restart its enormous pressure again, IMO its only fair you get the chance to control the timing of that restart & gain any small advantage you can.

I don't like Vettel but I do understand the red mist ...... sadly :(

This all reminded me of Spa when Coldheart got slammed by Schumacher when he lifted in the middle of the rooster tail ...... at least Schuey had the decency to go to Coulthard's garage and offer him out the back :p

Vettel is all talk ......... have a go ya mug !!! :p

Vettel is leading the WDC for Ferrari Moretti, you have to like him for that!
Er, the contact you are comparing to happened at like 150mph, while this one happened at like 20mph. No comparison. IMO, as Brundle said, over reaction by everybody, they were hardly moving. Nobody was going to get hurt.

And again Vettel, while he did not win, did increase his lead over Elton :D

Yep. To be honest I don't agree that Bottas needed to be penalized but otherwise agree completely.

John, Vettel is passionate ... now that he is not ducking up Webber all good.
