Hi Guys, I have more limited tire choices living in Australia, so currently I am running Michelin Super Sports 235/35-19 and 285/35-19, but recently had a rear puncture and see the SS's are being discontinued.

I can get PS2's in 235/35-19 but would have to go to 295/30-19 at the rear. Is anyone running this setup and could comment or does anyone see any issues with it?

    Many thanks,
    Chris

Chris- The MPSS tires will be continued until Michelin more fully populates the sizes available in the 4S line that replaces it. If available, I would go with the MPSS tires until the Pilot Sport 4S is available in the correct sizes. The 295/30 19s are nearly an inch (0.88") smaller in diameter than the 285/35 19s, so you run a greater risk of ABS/Stability Control issues. They will also lower the rear of your Ferrari about 12 mm, not a big deal.

The PS4s are available in 285/35-19. I just put some on my car. The fronts in a stock 225/35-19 are also available in the PS4.

John- Than that definitely is the way to go. The 4S is supposed to be a marked improvement on the MPSS, which was already the best all-around high performance tire available.

yes, well, as I said, I am in Australia, and we have more limited choices, so I am finding SS's hard to come by now and 4S's as well. I have also heard the PS4S is not as good as the PS2, but that's subjective and I've not had either on my car, only the SS's and the Corsas.

    Am on:

    235/35/19 (less under steer)
    285/35/19
    Michelin Cup2

And they work wonders all year round: street and track, perfect combo IMO

I am not even seeing the SuperSports listed on TireRack except for run flats, so I think they are being fazed out completely. I have found one SuperSport locally, which I could just replace the punctured tire, but I would prefer to replace the pair. The other SS is 2014 anyway, so I think one more track day and it would be getting replaced anyway.

Thrasher, I may consider the Cup2 then if you say they are an OK street tire. I can definitely get the fronts, I'll check on the rears. Anyone else running the Cup2's on the street?

Chris- You are getting info from some funny sources. The 4S is far superior to the PS2; maybe someone said Sport Cup 2 instead? Completely different tire that is basically a DOT legal race tire. Why not just order tires from Tirerack in the US? Cannot cost that much to ship and pay customs and you will end up with the tires you need.

Yes, I was surprised at that comment too, but I was told it was the PS2 that were better than the SuperSports. I have no issue with either, but I'm just trying to get a matched set. As far as shipping, it actually IS quite expensive...$500 for a set of 4 tires. I used to ship them in when our currency was stronger, but it is cheaper to buy them locally, though the selection suffers.

I think I am going to get Cup 2's. I wasn't as happy with the SS's over the Corsa's the car came with, so happy to try another. At the moment, I can get the fronts in PS4s, but not the rear. I would expect this supply issue solved by the time I am ready for my next set.

Chris- The Sport Cup 2s are a lot closer to the original P zero Corsas that came with her, than the street MPSS or 4S. Should work great and have a much longer life than the Corsas, but obviously not longer than the Michelin street tires. Optional on a lot of very high performance cars now, like Corvettes, Porsches, and GT350 Mustangs. Probably others I did not mention.

Good choice - am in London UK where it rains a lot, no issues with my Cup2s in the winter, so Australia, I wouldn't worry too much, no way it's as wet as here

No, not as wet, though I do live in a part of the country where we have low temps in winter, so can get to -2/-3C no problem. Not that I take the car out at dawn...
