For me, it's easy. Kvyat. This chowderhead has ruined more top driver races than I think even Maldonado. He's arrogant and drives like a tool. Not sure who'd I replace him with though.

Kvyat is a good call. Failing that, Palmer would be a good victim.

I was going to predict this is what we'd see.

I think Kvyat and Palmer are the two least-worthy drivers on the grid, but because it's F-Chat I think most of the posts will say Hamilton.

Of course. Hamilton is a good driver, but he is the biggest impediment to Vettel winning (though that may soon change).

    Definitely Lurch.

Maybe he's consuming too much Russian Vodka ?

Kvyat has all the arrogance the, the bad decisions, the attitude... everything... with very little to back it all up and make it worth putting up with. How many cars has he rear-ended since being in F1? As if Verstappen hasn't had enough bad luck... to be knocked out by Kvyat is just insult to injury.

... but if there were two... Palmer would be packing his bags as well. I really can't tell if Eriksen is good or bad since he's never been in a decent car really...but at least he doesn't cause a lot of problems.

It's still him. He should have won the race at Baku (faulty headrest is a freak occurrence) and had bad luck in Austria too (gearbox change penalty and the Haas breaking down during his final run at pole).

Bottas should not be slept on though...he'll take any opening and knows what to do with it (even if he got away with jumping the light, he still did well to hold off Vettel with his ratty tires).

Because the question is an open one, we could have predicted the Hamilton bashers would be out in force.

But I'll answer in the spirit in which I think the question was asked. Kvyat.

    Or Kimi. :)

Between Kvyat and Palmer, Kvyat can be downright dangerous. Palmer is just useless.

But let's not forget that young superstar Wehrlein. He lucked into a few points this year, but other than that this much anticipated highly praised champion-to-be has just floundered around like a very confused fish out of water. One of the 'Best Of Team Radio' compilations had someone, I forget who, saying "I don't know what Wehrlein is doing." Only to have his race engineer reply "Wehrlein doesn't know what Wehrlein is doing. Just try to get clear of him."

In my opinion, all three of them could and should be replaced. But Kvyat first.

Palmer. Kvyat is at least reasonably fast on a good day.

I agree about the usual Hamilton-bashers finding this threat too good an opportunity to miss ....

More seriously, I think Palmer is the most likely candidate.

    Agreed.

I have to agree here. I don't think he's been quite the same since it became clear his seat was under threat by Max and he hit Vettel twice in the same corner in Russia. After his demotion to the junior team, I think he's been overly aggressive trying to impress and it hasn't gone well.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

If the question came up four races ago, I know #18 would be candidate one. Time marches on ;).

    Yeah, Okay, Urkel it is.
From day one, a pouty, self absorbed mule with one redeeming gift. I know in advance I share something in common with his future concert fans, no desire for an encore.

There have always been slower, wilder, somewhat dodgy and clueless pay drivers in F1.
I have no interest in altering history, ;).

Yeah... I really don't care much for Hamilton, in fact I despise him but keeping him where he is pushes Vettel and the other drivers to do their best in beating him which makes for an exciting F1 season... race-to-race we never know what's exactly what Hamilton would, flaunting his huge attitude.

...a toss-up between Kvyat and Palmer. The former is faster but much more accident-prone, menace to other drivers, the latter less accident-prone but a real drag on Renault which deserves better.

Just read this morning it's likely Daniil will have his contract extended. I wonder if politics really are at the root of that decision. It appears the real story is that Russia is meddling and trying to influence the F1 grid. Is Red Bull colluding with the Russians? Has Honer met with any Russian officials? Hmmmmm....

Kvyat is not a bad driver, just had 2 high profile smashes in 2 years (clattering into Vettel twice in Russia and now taking out Alonso and Verstappen).

He's a good driver, evident by him matching Vergne and then matching Ricciardo (though I believe Ricciardo sort of slacked that year, had the big seat, beaten Vettel the year before and didn't have a quick enough car to challenge for wins...''so why bother''). Since his return to STR he's been desperately unlucky with car issues and whenever it the car did work, he made a mistake. Same continued this year.

That said, I don't think he'll be picked up by another team so the seat is wasted now. He'll be good in LMP or GTx classes and will easily get a job there.

The driver I'd pull out of F1 today, without question would be Palmer. Had enough time to prove himself, and all he's proven is that he's useless. I'd replace him with Kubica for the rest of the season, see how he goes...and who knows, if Kubica can't cope he'll be the first to admit it, so they can then throw another driver in (sirotkin for instance). Palmers seat is completely wasted. Hell, perhaps Ferrari can pay Renault to employ Leclerc for a couple of races.

I agree. Both are truly wasted seats. Neither will ever be a driver of consequence... for good things anyway. I think Gasly would be better in Daniil's seat though. I guess I just dislike Daniil more than Jolly.
