He and his fellow english man Camlet1 are an underground group committed to ban black wheels and yellow calipers from earth. My post was to tickle traveller not to confuse you
I would think caliper color would be dependent on the other variables such as paint color, wheel color, etc. For me, the odds would be high to go with either black or silver calipers, though I would not rule out red in the right situation. I doubt I would do yellow, and I do like yellow calipers sometimes. I've learned rather than have absolute rules, I just have my preferences. And one of my strong preferences (more so than caliper color) is against black holes...err.. wheels...
I accept I am slightly biased, but to my eye, with the bigger shields you will have enough going on and I wouldn't want to add any real colour to the callipers. So either black or aluminium would be my palette to choose from.
No matter the rest, whether it's a blue Ferrari with yellow shields or a pink elephant with red stockings, don't do yellow or red calipers. It's unnecesarily flashy and reminds me of the tuning scene of the 90's-00's, Hyundai Coupés and Opel Corsas.
But isn't that the whole point. What reminds you of something negative might be beautiful to someone else. I just read a thread where someone said a car was terribly ugly, even though I think its great looking. Yes, as the old saying, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would encourage everyone to stay away from pink elephants with red stockings however!
Agreed. As blasphemous as it is, it would be cool to do the shield in other colours than yellow as it has the same the effect as yellow calipers. Also it does look too small on the 812.
That's right imho- the 812 side profile expanse really lends itself to the larger painted shields. . They seem proportionate to the side panels size.
Now that's what I call a superb spec - congrats scraggy !! Looking forward to the atelier images . . .
during the day this car was beautiful.. but at night... WOW Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
To be able to order or buy a Ferrari is a very special experience. These cars are rare. Somehow on FChat the perspective gets twisted, I have been extraordinarily lucky to have driven a Ferrari of one model or another, every day, for the the last 14 years, logging over 200,000 miles. Let me assure you that these cars are special no matter the color of the paint, the type of leather, the amount of carbon, or the other myriad options offered by Ferrari. I know some will disagree and argue that a more bespoke spec makes all the difference in the life and death struggle for style. I appreciate that perspective. But it doesn't dimish the fact that every Ferrari is something unique, exciting, and beautiful. (Millemiglia01--is that 812 wearing the Grigio opaco paint whic debuted in Geneva? )
Appreciate the clarification Thanks Looking forward to seeing pics of your build once complete I still haven't decided if I'll take the plunge. I'm waiting to see it in the flesh... May be awhile
Yellow to match, but carbon centres. CDF quite "boring" colour is good. I also quite like Matt black wheels and the whole Slough look but not for this car !
What options are there on tyres ? I think Pirelli P Zeros are the standard tyre but believe Michelin PS (Cup 2 ?) and P Zero Corsas might be available.
I must admit some of us get carried away sometimes, way too dramatic, but here in a Ferrari forum, isn't that half the fun... especially when you don't even own a Ferrari
Ahahahah I take it a as a motivation... I think the dealer who will the order for my first car will suffer. A lot. "Police ? there is a guy in my showroom. He is there since 3weeks without eating or sleeping, repeating endlessly "Ferro... Siverstone... CdF... Ferro... Silverstone... Cdf"
