I know it has been thrown about, but which VW Group marque would be most likely to add an F1 team in the next few years? Thanks for your thoughts. I thought it would be Audi. Robb
Probably none of them ever BUT if I had to choose one it would be(and should be) Lamborghini! My dream would be to have: Lamborghnin, Porsche and Ford in F1. Rambo and Porsche as works teams and Ford as an engine supplier to let teams like Williams and Mclaren have a shot at actually fighting
I would do Bugatti. Bring back one of the great names in motor racing and get the credit that VW makes them. IMO, Lambo has nothing to gain. Plus, Ferruccio was personally against racing.
I'd love to see Bentley race cars. Their 2001-2003 LeMans EXP cars and the current GT3 cars are awesome machines.
Bugatti is f1 worthy yes. So is Audi though since they're gotten a connection to the auto union team. Lamborghini while not f1 would be like absolute war between the two maques ferrari and lamborghini if they decided to bring Lamborghini to f1. The founder not accepting racing hasn't stopped vw making Lamborghini develope a race car. There is one in gt3
I love them too (the Speed 8 might be my all time favorite race car), but I see them as more Le Mans and GT3 racing than F1. Bugatti on the other hand....good choice for Grand Prix!
Lamborghini was already in F1 in the late 80's early 90's, so why not bring them back again...would be a nice contrast to Ferrari.
none, except as an exercise in the hypothetical, VW is still taking big hits from the emissions scandal... F1 takes deep pockets and VW pockets are actively being picked clean
