    Really disappointed.

Went to an Alfa/ Maserati Dealer this weekend 99% sure I was going to order a Ti.

Salesperson was totally not interested in selling me a Ti and pushed the loaded to the gills Quadrifoglio he had on display with "only $10k" dealer markup ($96k). "This is the car you saw on the Superbowl Commercial" Umm, yes, I'm actually quite a fan of the marque and am very familiar with...

He then tried to sell me a Granturismo under the guise that it's "basically a Ferrari." And spent half an hour explaining the history of Maserati, Lamborghini, Alfa and Ferrari... When I tried to stop him and explain I was an enthusiast, he took that to mean I wanted to dick measure...

I left dumbfounded and a bit angry. Never got to sit in a car, much less drive one, and from what I saw through the window of a Ti in the parking lot, I was not impressed. Guess I'll stick with my BMW for now.

Why the hell do they think they can have a dealer markup?? No one is fighting to buy these cars.

I mentioned slow sales of the car and the guy argued "If they weren't selling, could we charge a market premium?" I guess he doesn't understand, not every dealer is in Silicon Valley.

Seriously... what you do in these circumstances is ask for another sales person.

You should not let one jerk wad salesperson stop you from seeing if you're happier with a Ti than an 3 series. You should decide that yourself.

As to the QF over sticker, I told my sales guy "yah, well that's not going to happen" and he got the message real quick. I said the same for the 4c Launch Edition I bought.

It's a common tactic of stupid US dealers. I have no idea why they just like to piss off customers.

My dealer in LV had the first Ti's with some kind of BS "dealer extras" that totaled another 3 grand. I just told him if those are on I'm not buying a car.

Most of the time they are just trying to hold to the MSRP so they put stuff on that people want to take off. IMO, it's just a stupid game that I wish they would not play

    Your answer:

"If it's selling, why is this one still here and not already SOLD?"

My Vegas dealer has texted me twice about 2 different QF's he had for MSRP. I'm sure I could have gotten more off if I pushed but I don't want one.

I remember that "strategy". When i was buying a car for my wife, we looked at Hyundai and the dealer had a stock of Veloster which we liked (when we were still without any kids and lived in the city)..and they all had a Dealer package for $1500 which was a BS stripe on each side, some window tainting and floor mats. WTF. They said they couldnt remove it so if i wanted a Veloster, they would have to order one...

    Bye bye..

You're right, though this dealership seemed extremely pretentious and uncomfortable... I'll probably try another dealer.

For sure. If you feel you are being pressured or uncomfortable just walk out. It's the only way they will learn.

    The customer is always right.

I had a similar situation with a VW dealer when I was looking for a replacement for my Mini.

Really??? I think we have established that Alfa needs to up the game on the dealer side.
I could not agree more that a FIAT dealer nor a straight Chrysler dealer should be selling Alfa....it has been my experience that Alfas paired to Maserati/Ferrari dealers are more able to take care of the Alfa..not just from the sale side but from the more important service side...
as far as crappy dealers....you can find them in EVERY brand, BMW NO exception...while no brand can afford people having a shiit dealer experience, Alfa can afford it least...especially trying to reintroduce the brand in the US....
My brother has lived/worked in Silicon Valley for the past 20+ years....never bought a car from dealers in the area as they tend to be real losers and love to mark up sought after cars...he was asked over MSRP for a MY18 Audi S4.....
if you want to drive the car and are interested in buying one...shop the dealer first...

Every one who says racing is not a good marketing tool to sell cars -- I agree.

Look at how the Porsche, BMW, Audi, McLaren, Corvette, Ford, and Ferrari brands turned out. Losers all! :)

Have had my base model for about 6 months now. It is a pure blast to drive. Daily to work, or around for fun. And I can fit both kids in the back if need be.
And she looks much more amazing than any BMW or Benz on the road.

Not as much of an UGH as a $300,000 USD Ferrari 488 topping out at 7500 where it's predecessor was at 9K

It seems to me that the trend to turbo charging is having lower redlines because there is more torque down lower.

... and more hp up higher :)

If the motor that revs to "only" 8K makes 100 hp MORE than the motor that revs to 9K ... and also makes 150 ft-lb more torque down low ... there's little reason to choose the higher-revving motor.

Depends on who's driving the car, I've seen 5.4 to 60 from other mags for the RWD. The Q4 is 5.1 to 60 or better. Redline 5500 and it's not a big deal, shift with or without the paddles and it gets you to 75mph in a heart beat. The nicks on the interior by MT are mostly BS. Everything is as nice as the others, although the Merc probably has the nicest that I've seen. My friend has a M2 and the interior of my TI is on par with it. The real wood accents on my car are beautiful and it all works great. Going on 3k miles on mine and no problems at all with anything. Also the steering on my car is better than my friend's M2. The only thing MT is right about is the small visors, they should be bigger. Since I purchased my car my aver. mpg is 26.6 and that's for about 80% in town driving, 20% highway. My last 100 mile highway trip I averaged 37.3 mpg at 75mph and that's in Colorado with significant elevation changes. Check and see how my real world figures stack up against any of its competition (again I'm in Colorado not Florida). Last but not least the sound should be better but Centerline International just solved that problem with a brand new Magnaflow exhaust system (not just a different muffler or a fart can) designed specifically for the TI and it sounds great and adds hp too for a very reasonable cost. I have it and it's fantastic, check it out on alfabb.com.

The frequency of reported repairs in the first 1,000 miles is rather alarming, particularly since the anecdotal evidence shows these are more than just returns to the dealer for rattles, etc.

Seems the motor shutting down while driving or going into limp-home mode is not uncommon.
