Not to derail, but is that an E9 CSL on the lift in the second pic?

Thanks, it was my dream to pair up my business with my car collection all in a climate controlled warehouse. Went a little overboard, but why not if you can. Directv, walk-in shower, Big A$$ Fan, Dyed concrete floor, Refrigerator. Just need a bed and I would be all set. Have done race parties the last 2 years for 12 hour Sebring race, and 24 hours of Lemans.

Fantastic! I just went through your BaT listing, before I go get a fresh pair of pants I'll congratulate you on what I think is just about the best car collection I've seen. GLWS.

Well I don't have anything else that you own but I do have the same VW bus, ours is a 65, some color as yours! Your Z8 is my favorite!

    Nice garage!

It's funny you mention the VW Bus, most of my friends gravitate towards it before checking out the other cars I have. My bus is a frame off restoration, resto mod with bigger engine, freeway flier transmission, lowered, with Porsche wheels. I picked sea blue over cumulus white as I think that is the best VW Bus Color Scheme

me too, I had a lot of buyers that wanted to buy off of BAT so maybe BAT was not the right venue for this car and price point

Yeah- that sucks. I thought that was a 200k plus car with such few miles.

Same thing happened with my 360. I consider all of those "buyers" to just be tire kickers/dreamers. IMHO, they were hoping the car wouldn't sell and then offer some lowball number and not have to pay the BaT fee. The fee is utterly reasonable and a far cry from any auction house...especially once you get above $100k b/c the fee is capped at $5k.

BaT was a fine venue for the car. The real issue is that the market for SLS is soft right now and your SLS (while ultra low mile) had practically zero options making it less desirable as a collector car. A poorly presented but fully loaded SLS with 14k miles sold on BaT about 6 weeks ago for ~$160k.

I actually dont think a lack of options had anything to do with it. It was the right color combo, barely driven, BAT was not the right venue along with market softening / too many for sale. Car paid for and picked up last week

Well, you're just in denial then. Besides the B&O stereo, your car had zero options. Again, a fully loaded, 14,000 mile car in the *wrong* color combo pulled *more* than your car about a month ago. Yes, softening market had a lot to do with it (as I said). Enjoy your CGT or whatever you end up buying.
