The 308 model year 1981/82 used rotor 119396 other 2v years use 118030. Is there a cam tip end swap or modification that can be done to use the 118030 on the 81/82 models? The distributor caps are the same.

Yes, I have seen a cam "rotor end swap unit"* that meets your requirement.

They were INSANELY EXPENSIVE for the two (on eBay IIRC).

You could replace the OEM Rotors each several times over for the price of the replacement "end tips." Given how long the rotors and caps should last ...

    My math said, "Screw It."

I have found the '80-'82 rotors for as low as $40.00 each. Shop around and bide your time.

Or machine your own replacement tips out of billet aluminum. Wouldn't take long with access to a lathe.

    * - Have pics somewhere .... if I can find them, I'll post.

The 118030 rotor was only used on the QV models, from approximately s/n 52000 onward. It was semi-translucent clear color that would melt and deform. Ferrari "changed suppliers" and the new rotor 124288 is a matte white color, which is still supplied today. See Service Bulletin 80-19.
The 2 valve injected V8 models can be converted using part # 117934 coupling (& a few other bits) but the cams need to be removed to perform the swap. I would wait until you need a major service if you are going to do this.
