Some aspects of 720 I am not a fan of but I love the meticulousness of the side ventilation and getting rid of the ugly and lazy side vents on 488 and 650/720. In the flesh it's amazing.

Plus the roof and doors are stunning. Again Ferrari looks lazy and a touch unambiguous.

Like the side view of 812 but back especially not cohesive or elegant.

I totally think otherwise. Saw it in person and it look much much better in all aspects than the F12.

IMO If the exhaust surrounds are painted to match the body color would improve things - What you guys think

Nit sure at all... all the ferrari with the lower body parts painted in body color look bulky and heavy.

Carbon is the only thing that look good IMO

Fair points but it doesn't do it for me (had a 650S BTW - which I really liked). Went with the Performante instead. Super excited about it :)

You've said that a few times and I get you don't like it and probably won't be buying it. Ferrari in-house design team has taken over and they are doing things their way not the Pininfarina way. It will be interesting to see how they evolve and how customers react to their designs. In Frankfurt later in September, we will see what they've come up with for the California replacement. My guess is you won't like that either but this is the start of the in-house design era which will choose its own path.

I saw it last month of June, but it doesn't make me any effect. Just the contrary, today I prefer the F12.

Nice picture, the color of 812 erase the horrible lines :)

I think perhaps we'll see some great one off SP's from the 812 SF.

Because I've never seen the 812 in person I always gave the benefit of the doubt to this car looks. However after seeing already many pictures and videos and now these two you published, in what concerns the rear part of the 812 I maintain my opinion that is the worst part of the car. No matter which color you chose, being yellow probably probably one of the worst, IMO the 812 rear section is such a bad exercise of car design that nothing can save it. The rest of the car even lacking some of the elegance of the F12b, being more aggressive and not particularly pretty, I find it perfectly acceptable so I can't express any real criticism. Despite of not being able to get into terms with the 812 rear, justice has to be made to the fact that it is a great car with a superb drive train.

    1) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
    2) You need to realise that it's all about aerodynamics nowadays.

Personally I love the front end, the rear not so much. I am sure it will be stunning in the metal though.

Olivier, interestingly enough to me this mouth looks like the one of a friendly grouper "Merou"

If units sold are a creative validation then The Backstreet Boys are better song writers than R.E.M., Neil Young, The Who, Deep Purple and George Micheal. And Fast & Furious 7, Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Secret Life of Pets are all better films than Apocalypse Now and Blade Runner. :)

What you've mentioned to me is a complete novelty and the first time I ear that when you find someone ugly you can call him/her a grouper face ….LOL I swear that it wasn't my intention to compare the 812 face with a grouper but if you observe well they have a family trace. The grouper is a very friendly creature and there are many videos with divers feeding them like babies. I would say they are one of those cases where ugly happens to turn out to be very beautiful.

Not the worst body-kit for the little Subaru/Toyota sports coupe, but too much tacked-on "WTF?" to be the best. I didn't know Veilside was still in business.

As far as I am aware The Backstreet Boys did not write their songs......... ;)

And what we know so far from the journo's is that the 812 IS a better car and a significant improvement over the F12. It will actually be interesting to read this forum when the 812's replacement is revealed and how people will complain of it's ugliness compared to the beautiful and timeless design of the 812 :D . Same thing happened when the F12 was shown as the 599 replacement. History tends to repeat itself and peoples memories tend to be conveniently short.

Each to their own....having seen the car in person I think the design works and looks quite good.

All I can say to those who have such strong thoughts against the 812 is, don't buy it.....I'm not a big fan of some of its attributes and I'm not going to build/buy an SP car so therefore I'm just shutting-up and putting-up with it :) lol
