Fenders, brake calipers, brake rotors, stereo, carbon door sills, steering wheel, carbon fiber ebrake handle, capristo exhaust, hyperflow cats, and headers. And a few other minor items.

Drove my daughter to the ferry in my little red machine. I noticed a few people snapping pictures of it so I snapped one for myself.

Took my car to get a NYS inspection today. First time out this season (yes, I know I'm pathetic). Stopped to see a new friend (local 360 owner). Took Jay for a ride. Car is running awesome.

I'll let Jay tell you F1 haters how good my car runs and shifts with a clutch supposablty 89% worn :D

Hahah, car felt great! My first experience in a car with a 1st gen F1 transmission (both my 360 and gallardo are manuals). I have driven a few other (non Ferrari) single clutch sequential manuals (owned a vanquish that left a bad taste in my mouth) and was pleasantly surprised at how well Dave's car behaved, especially at low speed gear changes. I would not hesitate for a second to add an F1 car to my collection and being that I prefer to service my cars myself having someone local with an SD would make it that much better, thanks for the ride!

Aside from leaving your parking lot, I don't recall any low speeds :)

very nice stance on your car..

Black on Tan.. with yellow calipers pops so nice..!
with stance like that with yellow caliper contrast.. no need for aftermarket wheels.

yellow calipers are considered modified..? if I understand yellow calipers was an option..?

unless I guess you painted them yellow..

It's a 1995. The concours rules state that you loose points for items that did not come from the factor and lesser so if you changed the finish. re-finishing sticky parts doesn't count and either does a Kenwood/Alpine/Clarion single DIN MP3 player even though that definitely didn't come from the factory.

    So...
Factory calipers but different finish (aka color)
    Hill Engineering rotors
    = -1 point

Factory 1997 fenders with indentation and factory shield but it didn't come on a 1995 and didn't come on my car specifically
    = -2 to -3 points

Custom header, hyperflow cats and capristo exhaust. Also removed exhaust upper heat shield to help dissipate heat.
    = -2 to -3 points

HE dead pedal for driver and passenger
    carbon door sills
    carbon ebrake handle (have original)
    = -1 to -2 points

    Steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara
    = -1 point (have original)

In all I could have put it back to stock for about $2,500 except the fenders and headers. Those 2 combined is 3-4 point deduction. You need 97 of 100 to be Platino. Thus, the reason to be in modified.

wow, that's quite clean that you got the whole front fenders.. to have real shields..
so 1995 builds did not have fender shields option..?

regarding removing the upper exhaust shield.. has that helped at all..?
makes me think maybe i'll try that..

I would not personally. Air boxes get toasty enough as it is.

    Nice pics guys! :)

I was just thinking that.. without the shield.. would allow heat directly underneath the air boxes..

which im sure would be significant heat soak at idle..

Heat shields CONTROL heat dissipation--they don't IMPROVE it if you remove them unless you want the heat to go that way. In your case, removing the shields just increases temps where you don't want it right?

So I thought Shields and Yellow calipers were options in late 1997 but Dave may be right. For sure they did not come in 1995.

    The heat shield....
So I suspect it is better for performance to divert rising heat from generally getting to the airboxes. However, I'd rather have all the hot air just go out through the hood as quickly as possible. If I really think I am losing some performance I'll make custom heat shields for each box and MAF tube. If I get bored I'll put a thermal probe in the airbox for before and after and see what is the reality.

Hot air does result in lower HP but on a 300RWHP NA car, it should only be a handful.

I may have the wrong terminology but heat shields divert heat not dissipate it. The shield keeps the exhaust heat from freely going out the hood or challenge grill. So do I want the engine to get rid of heat more quickly out the hood or shield the air boxes from that heat as it passes by? Good question. I think a better option would have been to shield the boxes individually.

To be fair, I need to look at the shield again to see the shape. I'll take a look this weekend.
