So, they call the tires Ultrasoft Supersoft Soft Medium Hard No one ever uses the medium or hard compound. Why not just call them Soft Medium Hard Very hard Isn't that less confusing? What's the difference anyway? It's the same freakin' tires!
Yep naming is stupid. To me also is the need to use 2 compounds during a race, let them choose whatever tire they want for whatever strategy they wish.
And he's back! Best idea in a long time...... now, unlimited tyre testing and no more daft engine and gearbox limits, or at least, financial penalties for the teams rather than grid penalties. What was the point of alonsos penalties at any time in the last three years?, start last, oh, and 145 place drop..... hmmmmm, pointless
I think ia Alonso´s cas, they should actualy drop him further back the grid for each one of the penalties...they shoud paint some 200 more slots in the gir and move him back acordingly ..he's being helped!!
Slight derail, but on that note I watched the Formula E race this past weekend. Don't recall who off the top of my head, but one of the teams got a 10 grid spot penalty for changing a gear box, but they had qualified so far back that there weren't 10 spots left to move back. So, they got moved to the last spot on the grid, and then handed a 10 second time penalty. I thought that was just adding insult to injury. Anyway, carry with the tire discussion.
