Video is cool, but car is still ugly.
What are you talking about? I think it looks great, especially in red. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Honestly you can't even compare the two for looks, it's like pigeons and eagles. Ands it's plenty fast for me and a head turner Image Unavailable, Please Login
People need to understand it's not always the numbers that most have argued on this topic. Most of us can't even push an F430 to its limits and yet alone a 488 or the 720s for that matter!
Totally agree, unless u are on a track which I would never track my own car. So to me 2.9 sec vs 3.0 seconds is meaningless, but I think people try to cover up their short comings. Ferrari is a Ferrari.
Drag race comparisons are oh-so-boring. They prove very little and repeated runs yield different results. Tyres make a huge difference from standstill and Trofeo > PZero. Look at increment results from various mags - 488 extremely quick and on the general pace of 675. I also know this to be true from personal experience. 675 faster on track though.
I dare to say the Swiss market is nothing special, with its rules normal average and therefore with a certain significance. Ferrari has the advantage of a very strong established distribution network and a wide loyal customer base. When launching a new product, Ferrari has the ability to strongly "generate and control" the "demand" over the first two years of the product cycle, after that it just goes down as with all others. The big advantage of Ferrari is a (depending on the region) more as 70-year market presence compared to a seven-year presence of McLaren. The value stability over the first two years has nothing to do with a superior product strength. Ferrari plays a game and the customers play with. At the end all nice Ferrari mass products fall into the same basement like the products from competitors.
I find all these comparisons and all the technical talk among similar cars so funny. %99.9 of the owners of these super/hyper cars will never be able to take these cars to their limits, not even close. Forget about the roads, drag races, you won't be able to see the limits even on the track. Only seasoned pro racers and test drivers will be able to tell the differences. Even among them there will be differences depending on so many conditions. So stop worrying about so much on numbers, weights, materials, unless you are into this for a pissing contest, mine is faster than yours thing or bragging rights. Just go out and buy the car(s) you like most.
That was a 675 coupe vs a 488 Spider. The 488 GTB is much closer to the 675. Their numbers are almost identical, which is amazing given the Ferrari's much greater weight vs the leightweight-track version of the McLaren! 488 Spider vs 675 LT Coupe: http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel6048-5661.htm 488 GTB vs 675 LT Coupe: http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel5623-5661.htm
It's not rubbish, it's just a slight exaggeration. Definitely easily the worst turbo lag I've experienced in the modern era.
well it looks a bit different on fastlaps 488gtb vs 675lt Ferrari 488 GTB vs McLaren 675LT - FastestLaps.com or here: 488gtb vs 675lt 100-300kmh https://youtu.be/U-VmBLkoURM
The good thing with zeperfs is that it doesn't take the extreme values (like fastestlaps does), but the average from many different test (look at the bottom of the pages I quoted), hence it's a bit more trustworthy.
ah got it so the youtube comparison are not valid neither because one car is faster than the other and zeperfs has it not that way round... Zeperfs and fastlaps are total rubish, mixing different test on different days with different conditions together and make some conclusion.... for my taste the youtube drage races showed it very clair, same day same condtition
Even though I am not disputing the fact that the 675 is slightly faster, a YT video shows nothing really, especially without instrumentation. Anyone who has ever raced even a go-kart knows that a 0.5s difference in reaction time, or a better side on the track (better traction), or less/better fuel, or better shifting (even in semi-autos you can short shift or hit the limiter) etc etc make all the difference in the world!
This is the internet, we are all perfect drivers that max out every car we own. In fact, our skills are so advanced that we have no idea why companies even include useless features such as traction and stability control.
