Rendering looks great! The wheels look like 21" there.
Really well done. Best 812 so far. Pushing the race look is perfect. Hard to see how it could be beat.
Mark fantastic spec! Congrats! I love how you achieved a very unique but classic look. I hope you enjoyed the TM experience.
I would be very surprised if that's the case. I've done 3 Tailor Made cars with 2 TM colors in just over 2 years and I am in regular communication with the head of Ferrari customization programs (TM and Atelier.) They could easily change the tint or level of metallic of mine or any other TM color and call it something else, so why would the risk upsetting a good and repeat TM customer? Many of the 3-layer reds look similar, so unless you saw a paint sample with a TM Sticker and my name with PPG code (30065137) on the back of it, I would say its a mistake. Either way I know who to ask. Thanks.
I hear you, I pre requested the sample as did my dealer repeatedly. I wanted it on my 812. It looked spot on and I was clearly told yes this is Rosso **** aka Coburn. I actually got the impression that it had gone "mainstream" or was planned to which is flattering. At least you can ask but I don't want to throw anyone under a bus who was well intentioned. Ian can you please answer the following post.
When I looked at the blue car with a stripe above I did not see anything other than the colour that was not on offer at Atelier. Even at Atelier I asked for them to plan ahead and bring me some TM sample colours. I have also had stripes before at regular Atelier. My new GTC has original Italian flags woven in the headrests, again not TM. Please can someone tell me : When you use TM, ie what is it that the Atelier at the factory can't do ? What is approx cost increment ? Production delays ? I guess where I am headed is I put £90,000 extras on my 812 why would you not do TM, where is the hand off ? I don't need my signature written in gold in the seats, when do I need TM. Am thinking of going back for TM for 812.
I was told doing Tailor Made now is around a 10 - 12 month delay partly because of 70th anniversary cars. I have an appointment in December which I may have to shift to 1st quarter next year so looking at the end of next year for my car it seems.
Beautiful blue. Can't wait to see the delivery pictures, I hope the wait is not too painful... Did the gold calipers versus the yellow seem an option, I thought maybe a bit suburu spec but ....
True, a lot can be accomplished with Atelier. I am not sure if you have seen the TM department located in the R&D building? The difference will be clear from the selection of material and examples that are present in the TM rooms. Just from an area and materials on hand comparison it is at least 10x. As many others have said it can be overwhelming if you don't have a general design concept in mind. TM is capable of drawing on that greater selection and going in an even more bespoke direction such as designing your own seat patterns, paint color or requesting something completely off palette such as producing the interior with material from your favorite leather jacket. The appointment is also much more interactive where they have a graphic designer render the design of the exterior and interior real-time as you discuss it. From a cost standpoint it all depends on what you want to accomplish. I will say if you are at all concerned with where your creative direction, getting caught-up in the moment and an open wallet might take you, it might not be for you. Production time-frame is very difficult to determine. It's highly dependent on the factory and TM workload. How elaborate you get with the design may also contribute to the overall time. In the past, I have heard of as short as 6 months to well over a year from signing off on the final design. I believe current estimates are a year or more. The comparison I often use is Atelier is like walking into a high-end clothing store and taking a designer suit from the rack and requesting the tailor to adjust it to fit. TM is like walking into a high-end tailor shop and asking them see all the material available, selecting from those materials and custom designing a suit for you.
Thank you sir! Its a TM F12Tdf in Grigio Coburn which is a triple layer grey, similar to Ferro but more depth and a cooler base tone (more grey.) It also has a custom stripe in a prototype color called Pure Metal Silver. It's in production, so hopefully more to come soon...
Thanks so much. Very thoughtful. Was at the factory last week wish I had hunted for your Tdf I am after a mid grey that sparkles.
It's not restricted, anyone can order. I feel we are well off topic on markmoons thread, so I will post a thread on it after delivery. There is a pic of the painted chassis on my Instagram page @rossocamo but keep in mind it's low resolution.
WHAT ?? A TAILOR MADE GRIGIO TDF ? And I wasn't aware of this !! unbelievable! Welcome to the register . I update immediately You can't imagine how jealous I am ... To have a grey paint named after you ! "triple layer grey, similar to Ferro but more depth and a cooler base tone (more grey.)" Basically the description of the perfect Ferrari color. I'm speechless. God make time to delivery as short as possible
I'm sorry, I also claim membership. To answer your point about TM, I don't believe there is a minimum spend that is enforced but once you start seeing what is possible...... Having said that one option I had specially made, theoretically, was carbon footrests at some truly insane price, but that's the point, I could have them as a one off so why not. On delivery I noticed they were painted in Matt body colour and were not carbon. I'm still awaiting replacements. Only go TM if you really don't mind what you spend. It's hopeless going with a budget and the phrase 'how much would that be' is never to be uttered.
