    Greetings all!

I've been a longtime lurker/dreamer of the forum and recently was fortunate enough to finally become a F-car owner (red/tan F430 Spider). I've scoured this section and am appreciative of the local recommendations and tips I've learned so far.

I'm having a blast with my new (to me) car and look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you and becoming part of the community.

I live in downtown LA and work in SGV (Pasadena) and if anyone has any recommendations for anything that might be useful (car meets, car washes, etc.) in these areas I'd definitely appreciate it. I haven't found much info for anything in downtown (which makes sense since I know DTLA probably isn't the best place to drive a Ferrari) but I figured I'd ask. It would also be great to meet any other members that might be neighbors.

I would love to make it to the West LA Lunch Group and plan to do so one day.

I'll be sure to continue to monitor the Socal section for any events :)

    See y'all around!

    -Kevin

2nd Sunday of the month is Piazza GT in Westlake Village. We often do a meet in Sherman Oaks for a group drive up. I may post/organize another one sometime next week so watch for the thread.

Had another great West LA to Malibu lunch drive today. Next one will be August 25th.

Thanks! I plan to be there (in a red/tan F430 Spider with Challenge wheels). Will keep an eye out for other Ferrari owners. Hope to see some of you there.

I really wished I could've made it to today's lunch drive but will make it to one eventually. I'm planning to be out of town towards the end of August so I'll see you guys in Sept (if not August).

Will keep an eye out for the post regarding the Piazza GT. Thanks for the heads up!

Wow that is so awesome! I remember my first prancing horse. Ahhh the memories.

As for recommendations, Fast Cars and Ferrari Tech will be your friends for anything mechanical/technical related. As for car washes/detailing/clear bras, tinting etc etc the only people I trust and have had long time success with is D'elegance Detailing. They are San Diego based however they service clients all over SoCal. Very Professional and very knowledgeable. Try and be patient though as he is pretty busy this time of year since it is show season. Tell him I sent you call or text 619-718-0031.

Took the words right out of my mouth. You must be a mind reader.

OP, every single one of those places mentioned are awesome! Highly respected throughout this community.

Hi Kevin, Congrats!! I picked up my 430 in May and have loved every minute of it. I work in DTLA, but can't find anything there as you mentioned. Roads and traffic are also havoc.

There is a Cars and Coffee in Torrance every 3rd Saturday at the Del Amo mall (hosted by SouthBay Ferrari). Attended my first one a few weeks ago and met some great guys. I was inspired by several carbon fiber interiors, and picked up a few parts this week from MAcarbon (door locks, door cups, shift panel, and switch panel).

I will be taking my car to Fast Cars on Thursday for service. Spoke to Craig and he is a great guy. This forum is extremely informative. Hope to see a red spider cruising by as I go to work.

DTLA is a great place to drive. You have to wait until after hours, but it's the preferred test track for Magnus Walker so you're in good company. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQcjM6cKxdU

As far as car washes downtown, when I lived there a few years ago they were few and far between, but the car wash off of Olympic and Figueroa has a hand wash bay and plenty of exotics go there.

Awesome! Glad to meet another local F430 owner. Would be happy to grab lunch or a coffee sometime since I'm in DTLA a lot (I work from home most days). Thanks for the heads up -- I'll definitely make it out to the Torrance meet some day. I'm having trouble passing smog and if I don't figure it out on my own I'm thinking of giving Craig a call and possibly taking him the car this week as well. Might see you there!

Ah yes Magnus is actually just next door to me. I agree there can be some driving gems in DTLA -- the bridges and the 2nd street tunnel come to mind (I could cruise down this tunnel all day with the crazy sounds it produces). No really long straights, lots of potholes, and some sketchy areas but DTLA is good enough to have fun in :).

Thanks for the heads up about the car wash! I've been looking for a local place for biweekly washes and will definitely check them out.
