Now with a lift in my garage, I enjoy the ability to look around check the condition of thinks like the exhaust mounts and wheel bushings. I was wondering what would be the best product to treat rubber bushings and any other moving parts like cables. Would it be ok to spray them with WD40 or a silicone product, or is something else recommended?

Silicone will speed up the degradation of most plastic and rubber products.

Remember to put an old sheet down on the floor to catch any overspray. Some of this stuff makes the floor very slick, and strong smelling.

Goes counter to what I have experienced. A quality product that evaporates quickly (no slippery mess) protects soft rubber such as engine hoses quite well. Would not use on interiors or showy parts but would recommend in undercarriage and under hood applications.
