The new car 2018-2019 will have something similar to the shield that Ferrari test in Silverstone. The design looks pretty good without wings and fairing wheels. yep, in the Aperta version! No emission whatsoever..... And for the passionate optimists, it's got the prancing horse on it! Which means: the happy few will buy them, others will be jealous, and all of us will be watching the races!!!!

My choice will be that I'll sell up and buy a beach house in either the Indian ocean or South pacific, plenty of surfboards. Surfing is my 2nd passion in life.
I like Formula E. It exists to keep this nonsense out of F1, which is real racing. If we can move the electric BS over to that series to get the hippies off our ass and bring real engines back to Formula 1, then I'm all for it Might happen in liberal land UK but here in the USA we are safe for my lifetime.
Love this approach, but I am afraid the good days are over. Now and then, we laugh our ass.s of with FIA and their silly regulations, but one thing is sure: they are not only concerned with safety, they are very much under pressure of politics as well. Even if millions and millions of F1 fans would like to see V12 or V10 engines come back, it's not gonna happen, even if we paid for it! Very soon dieselcars are gonna be forbidden in any big city in Europe. Don't think the green wave is gonna stop there. Then they'll examine fuel engines and all the 'harm' they do to city air. And all this is, sooner or later, going to be reflected in automobile sports, I am afraid.
It will happen everywhere, have no illusion about it. In the US, it will probably start in California where people are more environmentally conscious, and then it will spread across the States.
I believe most of us have accepted that and are looking forward to the new formula .... possible V-6 T w/KERS or V-6 2T w/KERS and around 1100 - 1200 hp. Yes, William.....it is only a stop gap of things to come in Europe and alot longer in the U.S.
Again, not in my lifetime. So while you are probably correct (and I'm sure you absolutely cannot wait for mandated electric cars and a ban on the ICE because you're you), I don't have to worry about it and I won't support it. Have no illusion about it.
I have never wished a ban on the ICE or preferred electric cars, but I can see the writing on the wall. I can adapt to circumstances and I have no interest in fighting a rear guard battle against what is inevitable. 2040 isn't far away, and I will see it.
