Halo 2017

Many drivers have spoken out about the halo...one of its biggest supporters however is Vettel. Rumor has it the only team to vote for its introduction was Ferrari. Vettel hated the shield...but did it even really make him dizzy or distort his vision? Or was that whole thing just a rouse to bring in the halo. Why didnt any other team test it? Hmmm. Something STINKS

 

What is the FIA's level of involvement with IndyCar? Is it the same as F1? I don't get why they can get changes made that suit everyone while in F1, they did their heels in and crams thing down the teams' throats they don't want and have zero problem taking away things they do want?

No one wants the Halo - Result: You're getting the fat girl's thong put in your line of vision.

The teams do want shark fins and t-wings - Result: Those are ugly and we're taking them away.


It's just an odd odd thing the way F1 works.

The FIA has no involvement in Indycar.

I wonder if Ferrari has any previous aerodynamic work on this and so they vote in favor of the halo and rejected the shield with just one lap.

 

How about almost everyone shows up without a halo to the races. Refuses to take point and place reductions. So then there is an f1 race with 2-4 cars in it. I think not. If most of the teams said stick it the halo would become an instant dead issue. What would F1 be if no one showed up? GTS Bruce

And as someone else mentioned that might allow for the cockpit surround to drop a bit, reducing the need for the ugly noses.

F1 have now edited the video so that the criticism isn't show anymore. Yep. Really.

 

There is nothing like censorship to crush the opposition and stay in power unchallenged.

 

In other news those two drivers have been asked to bring their cars to the FIA for a thorough screening of their legality...

 

The "computer generated" image is ridiculous. Perhaps Alex Wurtz sitting on four phone books would have that view...

I don't think they are going to do a U-turn now.

Soon it will be too late anyway; next year chassis design has probably already started for most teams.
