Saw a white 488 GTB going the other way yesterday. It didn't have the running lights on. Looked geat but took me awhile to figure out what it was. I think the lack of running lights threw me off.

Yes it is - even though it does not look the same on both pictures, it's also the same car...

The 488 is definitely faster; it lacks the magic of rear wheel steering though.

That's quite the duo. How much seat time have you had in the 488?

The 488 for sure is faster in a straight line. I'm afraid it's going to take me a few days to get used to the car before I can really push it. For sure am going to have to swap off the tires to either a Cup 2 of Trofeo R.

Honestly hardly any. Just got it last week and took it for paint correction, clear bra, and ceramic coating. Car only has 80 miles on it. I'll leaning towards daily driving it for a couple of months so I should get comfortable quickly.

Once you get some daily driving in I'd love to hear how the two stack up against one another in that aspect.

From my limited experience the 488 is more refined. It is shockingly easy to get around town in. If I wasn't worried about parking it everywhere I think I would drive it everyday, other than just to my office. I'm chomping at the bit to get some more seat time. Should have the car back tomorrow so I can take it out all weekend.

The RS is a lot more "raw." You hear a lot of mechanical noise (transmission specifically at low speed). However, refinement isn't the point of the RS, it's meant to be a track car. I've probably put 2500 miles on my RS at COTA and only had to charge tires and pads, its just an amazing machine. It gets the most attention of any 911 I've ever owned, but nothing close to the 488.

You should also enjoy the 488 on track; it is OK with standard tyres (I have Michelin PSS) as long as you adjust the pressure but will undoubtly be faster with track tyres (e.g. PSC2).

Defense is a good plate for your line of business. Not a good plate for track purposes. Consider getting a vanity plate that says "offense" while you are on track -:)
