Whilst stopped at a traffic light, the 360 refused to change gear and remained in neutral. Ended up being transported home on the back of a truck.

    No warning lights.
F1 pump is working when door is opened.
No initial indication of what was going to happen.

    Did the electrical reset twice.
    Swapped fuses over.

Car starts up fine and runs ok, just not changing gears.

It has a CS TCU installed about 6 months ago. Clutch wear was around 29%

Any other ideas on what the fault could be?

    Thanks

Since your saying your clutch wear is only 29% Ill throwout 2 possibilities..Clutch position sensor or Actuator.

Did you try auto or reverse?

Neutral is one of the safety strategies to protect the box, but that is generally accompanied by a code that will trigger a warning light.

Trying auto or reverse would quickly rule out something daft like the paddle assembly.

To go any further really needs diagnosis.

Will it engage gears when the engine is shut OFF but the ignition is on? IF so then its the clutch throw out bearing. Your symptoms are 100% like mine when the said throw out bearing went kaput earlier this year:

IF engine was running, it wouldn't select any gear. If engine was shut OFF but ignition was ON, it selected any gear I wanted.

    Thanks.

    Tried reverse but didn't work.

    Didn't try Auto setting though.

Thanks. Will give it a go.

Another possibility is PIS is set too tight. There are so many possible causes. You need to get to an SD and someone who really knows these systems.

Will hopefully have it picked up in a few days.

Just wondering if there was an easy fix like a hidden fuse etc

And mine broke just like your "episode":

I stopped at traffic lights, I always put it "N" when doing so. When lights changed I tried to select 1st gear but nothing was happening. When I shut the car OFF (but ignition ON) it would select any gear I requested, 1-2-3-4-5-6-N-R etc.

IF its the throw out bearing then prepare for somewhat high bill as the gearbox needs to be removed in order to access it. Lets hope its something else!

    Maybe the brake light switch?
If the computer doesn't realize that your foot is on the brake, it won't go into gear.
I had some issues with the gearbox error light randomly lighting up when switching gears (no gear changing issues though) when I first bought the car. I changed the brake switch (~$45) and I never had an issue since.

If you shut it off, put it in say 2nd and started the car up, would it stay in gear and allow you to drive or kick it straight back to neutral as soon as the car started?

PIS settings incorrect. I had that issue intermittently with a CS TCU got clutch settings adjusted no problems.

I had the same happen twice shortly after I bought it. It eventually got into first both times after some faffing about with the paddles, accelerator, ignition on/off. At about the same time the check engine light went on and as it was only a month since I bought it from the main dealer, they took it back and sent the ECU to be re-flashed at the factory. I haven't had this issue since but I now never switch into neutral when waiting or at traffic lights just in case ...

So how do you think you would do that since the system automatically shift to N to start?

360 all fixed. Turned out to be a very minor issue in the end.

Picking it up tomorrow from Bell Classics and will post full details later.

    Thanks for all your help.

Just picked up the car from Bell Classics.

The gearbox fault was due to a loose heatshield that shorted out the rear brake lights.

If brake lights are blown, the F1 gearbox won't work!!

Yup. That's why I converted to LEDs and carry spare LED bulbs and a new brake switch in the frunk. I don't want to get stranded somewhere out on a rural road without cell signal. I also practice how to change out the bulb by feel in case it happens at night time. :)
